Great video guys! I think it's important to point out that the fees immigration lawyers charge vary greatly. In the Lake Chapala area in Jalisco, I just hired a lawyer to update my address with INM, renew my temporary residency for 3 more years and also update the TIP on my US plated car (which is done at the Guadalaraja airport). My cost for all this was around $130 US.
@TwoGayExpats2 жыл бұрын
That's incredible!! Great to know! We were quoted anywhere from $125-425 per person just for the permanent resident card exchange in Playa del Carmen.

Thank you so much! And definitely! We also had a great recent trip to Merida! There are so many day trips you can take from there as your base. And it has the nicest Super Ched we’ve seen in all of Mexico so far!! Good luck to you both!! 😊

Did you go to permanent residency straight? The consulate told me i am financially eligible for permeable residency straight but my age is less than 55 years old so only option is to go through the temporary route. Do you guys do the same?
@TwoGayExpats8 ай бұрын
We went straight to permanent. Be sure to watch our first video in this two part series to see how! Each consulate plays by their own rules (or interpretations of them we learned)

WOW, that was WAY more complicated than what I went through getting my 4-year temporary visa. I don't have to do anything for 4 YEARS and then I get my permanent visa. I am in Huatulco so there are fewer people trying to go through the process. That will probably change as more people find out about this amazing place.

Great video! One thing you guys indicated that you got the card the same day or next but on the graphic says you received it almost 15 days later?
@TwoGayExpats Жыл бұрын
You can pay extra to have same day or wait like we did until your attorney is notified to collect a week or two later depending on how backed up your INM office is…. Ever changing so must ask when you go in for your appointment!

Hey guys, great video. Have you received your RFC number yet? That seems to be a whole new process. Would love to know if you have. I have to figure out how to do mine. Thanks!
@TwoGayExpats Жыл бұрын
Yes, it was initially a struggle to find an appointment online, but once we did it was a simple process in Playa for us. There was a team member 🏳️🌈 who gave us what felt like VIP treatment! It was also only a couple of hours versus all day for the RP card.

Hi Guys: Did the Permanent Residency on my own, the whole process in Mexico (getting my Card) took only 10 days from start to finish. In an answer to Brett, make absolutely sure to stop at the INM Office at the airport, or the Border( if You are driving )before leaving Mexico to fill out another FMM Tourist Card, present it to the Airline Representative and retain the TOP half of the FMM for reentry into Mexico. Congratulations to You Both!

My partner and I are about to embark on a similar journey, we are moving to Puerto Vallarta. We have to make one more trip to PV then we will make our appointment at the Orlando Consulate since we live in Sarasota, FL. The information you gave was super helpful, thank you!!! I was wondering if we needed all the pages for our statements; my bank statements for the investment account I will use is about 42 pages each month, so that will be over 500 pages for the past year,. After seeing your video it sounds like that's what we will need so we will just do it. One question I had is that they require "certified statements." as well as copies. How did you go about getting certified statements? Thanks again guys.
@TwoGayExpats Жыл бұрын
Copies were fine in Orlando for us although we printed in color ;) And we printed out the entire statement locally so we didn’t have to fly with a huge box and picked it up the day before our appointment! Good luck!

INM is like the consulates - every one has a slightly different way they do business. In Mazatlán they do a first come, first served process - no appointments. We don't have an 'expedited' process (for $400 usd???) either. Maybe in the next video you can include a few minutes on the process you need to follow when you travel outside México when you have residency. I hear/see too many that don't do it the right way, and then get converted back down to tourist status and have to start the residency grind all over. Thanks for the video and congratulations!

Thanks for sharing this perspective from Mazatlan! And yes, thanks for the suggestion,! We will film the correct way to leave the country and return soon as we head back to the States for an upcoming trip for Andy's birthday!

Good afternoon. I qualify for income and other requirements. I was thinking of a permanent residency card. Is a lawyer really necessary 🤔. Any other advise would be helpful. Thank you.

Not on the US side (Part 1) and if you speak Spanish, you’ll be fine as well for the visa-resident card exchange in Mexico (Part 2). Facilitators make it super easy for you tho with less waiting so may be worth the small fee!
