My daughter is starting her residency at Stanford, she moved there two weeks ago from Indiana, and had to go through the crazy process of renting sight unseen. Relying on videos when you are paying so much money for an apartment is crazy! I’m so glad you got such a great apartment. Best wishes to both of you! I can’t wait to see the tour!

Congratulations, you two!!!!!🥳 I'm so excited for you both.❤️ I hope you both really enjoy your new adventure in NYC! (round 100?)😂 And yes, I want an apartment tour video! If your new laundry facility requires quarters for drying time - some of the machines are cheaper to dry multiple loads at once with an "extend time" purchase. Let's say an hour is $1.25 but a half hour additional time allotment would only be a quarter it's cheaper to do multiple loads at once. We have a dryer at home but we just bought these wall pull-down hanging dryer racks for our small home since the standing drying racks take up a lot of room. Maybe that's something you'd like to have for jeans and other things you wouldn't want in the dryer.😎 I'm so excited for you. Moving can be really fun sentimentally discovering things you didn't remember you had or things that make you smile again. P.S since you won't have cars will you two get battery packs for your cell phones? P.P.S I hope your time apart from each other goes really quickly and you are together again soon. I know I'd be missing my SO if we were apart for a few weeks. Thank goodness for facetime!!!! Be safe.❤️💐

I get what you mean for the brokers fee. I’m a realtor in New York, yes it’s a lot but especially when things were normal it’s a lot of work it’s not just giving a tour and sending videos, it’s all paperwork, talking with the landlord, getting everything in order and much more. If we are the agent for the renter we do all we can to help you. When it comes to my business I’m totally honest and do not want to just sell or rent I want my clients to have the best experience. You wouldn’t expect to do your job and then not get paid so we expect the same. Majority of the time we are showing 20-30 apartments per client and they will walk away so no money for us. Just wanted to clarify.

Best of luck moving during this time! I can't wait to see the apartment. I couldn't imagine moving anywhere, especially NYC during this time. But, we live in KS, and neither my husband, or my family, has moved out of state. Also, I've had 10+ autoimmune disorders, starting with 7 a decade ago. My husband just got diagnosed with Stage 4, Esophageal Cancer the end of March. Started Chemo 4/1, which is so hard an stressful, since I can't even be there with him, due to COVID-19. The KU Cancer Center is only allowing patients inside, which I totally understand, it's just creates extra stress, during an extrememly stressful time! Best of luck to you both! Just a question, how is Adriana's name spelled. I have an 18 y/o daughter, spelled Adrianna, but the last part is pronounced "ahna." Can't wait for the next one! Stay healthy!!!

The broker’s fee is to pay the broker. Brokers don’t work for free like doctors don’t work for free. Some work extremely hard showing over 30 apartments a day. Some are meh, but overall most earn and deserve their pay. There’s also a good amount of paperwork involved depending on the building. Good luck in New York! Looking forward to your NYC vlogs✨✨✨
@DrCellini4 жыл бұрын
I don’t doubt they work hard, but emailing me a lease and a video tour for $15000 seems a little egregious in my opinion!
@LinusLarrabee4 жыл бұрын
@Dr. Cellini I get it. The apartment must be more than $8500/mth. If it weren't for the pandemic, maybe more would have been done on his/her part. The fee is negotiable. Next time (if there's a next time), consider a no-fee rental building. Most leasing agents get paid by salary and don't rely on commission. Welcome back to NYC!

Very helpful and interesting video. Would like a tour of your new apartment in New York. With the cost of rent in Chicago I can only imagine the prices in New York. Glad that you found a unit that meets most of your needs. When I lived in Chicago, I lived close enough to walk to work downtown and that makes life so much easier and is a great time saver. Best wishes to you both as you move and get settled in New York.

You two have a nice start of your new jobs! A house tour would be amazing! But I have a silly question: I live in Europe so maybe it’s a cultural difference. Why in New York is preferable to use a laundry and dry shop and don’t buy a washer and dryer at home? Would be more convenient and in a long term cheaper. It’s not so frequent here not to have the laundry and drying machine at home so it seems weird to me!

Yes, an apartment tour. I am in Florida and I know there's a BIG difference in apartments in NY vs. here. Also before I wanted to be a PA, I wanted to be an architect and interior designer so I love seeing these. :) Also I graduate PA school in August and will be moving back to Jax (currently in Fort Myers now) so I will soon hopefully be looking for a new apartment as well with my fiance. Also maybe your wife can do a video on her new job? I don't remember which specialty she is currently in, but wondering if its in the same specialty or if she is trying something new. :)
