I.moved to Paraguay from the States in 2008. Best decision of my life. Low cost of living, high level of personal freedom, and great climate are all great benefits of living in Paraguay. I haven't been back to the States since 2008. Not even for vacation.

I'm from he US and still live here but long to live in a place like Paraguay where I would be left alone and have true freedom to live my life in a moral way before God and man. My friend from New Zeeland lives there now and says its the most free county he's ever been to and he's spent significant time in over 50 countries.

Super well researched and respectful video! Just one thing I wish Europeans and North Americans would mention in these videos about living in Latam: please be aware that you're most likely displacing locals and making their lives more expensive, sadly. It's not your personal fault, you're just trying to make the most of your own life and that's great. But it is a reality, so consider giving back: hire locals, tip generously, find out about local charities, participate in citizen initiatives, etc. We love foreigners and we'd really appreciate that kind of involvement. Good job!
@samirSch
@samirSch 3 ай бұрын
LOL the very reason LatAm is "live-able" today is because europeans displaced locals. Call me whatever you want, but you can't deny that weren't for Conquistadores we'd be still flaying little girls alive and making boys wear their skins and dance for Kukulkan. Besides, most of LatAm, contrary to 'murican racist beliefs, are european. Even the blackest brazillian has like 40-50% european DNA. It's a land of immigrants and those immigrants and their expertise that took us out of jungle and cannibalistic wars. They increase housing prices but they also bring in the money and investiments, and opportunities. As long they don't bring Left4rdism with them, I'm sure we're all fine.

@Azrael He had the freedom to make a logical judgement call that most likely didn't put any other persons lives in danger. You've probably never been in that type of situation to understand this. Just been trapped in your police state cage of a country all your life.
@SpoonerTuner

@Azrael nobody said they were speeding in an area where there were children. 😂 You got a pretty good imagination and seem to have no problem falsely accusing people of stuff they didn't do. Shame on you.
@SpoonerTuner
@SpoonerTuner Жыл бұрын
@Azrael You literally said that they were "driving over the speed limit in areas with children". You made a direct accusation as if it was a fact that they did something wrong based on pure assumption and with zero evidence. And you still insist that they should go to jail for what? Let's just say for example they do care about children. In this case I would assume they would probably not speed where there are kids around but that doesn't mean they wouldn't speed where there are no kids around. For example the Paraguay version of the autobahn that has a speed limit but is located in the middle of a bunch of farm fields far from any children. You can assume anything but you didn't do that. You accused them of putting children's lives in danger based on zero evidence and are ready to crucify them for it!? I believe people still possess the ability to act safely based on their own ability to make a logical and reason judgment call in different situations without the government or anyone else forcing them to do so. Just because there is a law doesn't make it right or wrong. For example abortion is legal, but it's still murder. Narcotic drugs are now legal here where I live, but that doesn't make it less destructive to people's lives.

If anyone has the desire to live in Paraguay the first thing to buy is international health insurance. Without it you could go broke in a few months. An example is my girlfriend and her two sons. Last year they went through the flu virus that was running around the country at an alarming rate. Then there was health issues with my girlfriend and now she has cancer. Cancer in Paraguay is pretty much a death sentence so I sent her to Ecuador for excellent treatment. While she was being treated she contracted dengue fever and had to have her cancer treatment stopped. She was in the hospital for ten days and received four blood transfusions. In less than six months I have spent $42,000 and most of it was for her and the boy's health care. Don't think that cheap taxes get you any where in south American countries other than maybe Ecuador that has an excellent health care system and their government is slowly getting rid of their gang problems. If I was going to live any where in south America it would be in Quito, Ecuador.

I'm sorry, as a Paraguayan I must explain the true meaning of the Paraguayan flag. On the front side the star represents the excellence of the heroes who achieved the nation's independence without bloodshed. The palm and olive branches surround the star in representation of its excellence, in addition to the palm and olive streets, which are the most important in the center of Asunción. On the back is the lion defending the hat, this represents the willpower of the people to defend their freedom. With respect to the colors, the interpretation is correct, although in my opinion what it represents in Paraguay does not exist with the exception of blue. Because here there is no justice, no peace, but there is a lot of freedom. One could even argue that there is too much freedom and therefore there is no justice or peace. It should be noted that previous versions of the flag were completely blue with a white star in the upper left corner.

70% of the 95%"mestizos" are white but they prefer identify themselves as "mestizos" they are "mixed" but of different white european groups. and 10% identify themselves as "white" almost 80% in Paraguay are white in fact being majority the spanish and portuguese descendant and 38% are italian descendants. This happened in several times in 1811 after the independence of Paraguay from the Spanish Empire, the dictator Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia wanted to create a "mixed race" forbidding the marriage between people of the same ethical background; So many white people identify themselves as mixed of "europeans and natives" to can get married with the person they wanted or their fathers decided would be a good couple. that was very easy with the help of the native language because all europeans that went here learned it very fast even they didn't speak on their mother tongue. After in the presidency of Stroessner The guarani language was forbidden in the country so this made that paraguayans with european background feel more "paraguayan" by this way regain the freedom of the people to speak in the language their prefer. The "mestizo" is part of the paraguay history population traditionally so by a feeling of nationality their identify themselves as "mestizo" but isn't true at all.

Not the best, but eating healthy is very cheap and easy (about 90% of diseases comes from poor diet). In case of accidents public hospitals cover most of the expenses; like surgeries, and some drugs. But you have to pay for things like orthopedic implants. (Ambulance and paramedical services are free, but you can pay for private ones too for semi urgent cases) In case of heart/diabetes/kidney conditions can be expensive. Not as much as the US though. For very rare diseases you will have to go on neighboring countries.

Paraguay is probably a brazilian protectorate at this point, so unlike switzerland paraguay wont stand alone in case it is indeed invaded. And unlike canada its not directly allied to the west.

Paraguay has a problem with the banking system. Once you bring your money to paraguay, the banks don't let you transfer the money out. So if your thinking about moving to Paraguay be aware of the possiblilty that your money stays here forever.

Or just buy a shi/t little house in Japan. Better than Paraguay just Miami, and even there you will pay much more taxes. The houses in Paraguay are huge and cheap, you have freedom and the country have many oportunities. I invite you to visit my original City (São Paulo) you will see The hell in front of you. Probaly you are a leftist du.m,,b girl that are in heaven and dont reconize it. First time taking 3 hours in São Paulo for just go to work and living in a tiny apartment you will give thanks to God to be born in Paraguay

@@SpoonerTunerthis is not true. I've been living here for 7 years now. It is very difficult to bring your own and not worth the taxes they charge in immigration, my husband tried. To buy one here you have to buy a registration card for the weapon. This involves money and paperwork and the renewing of the license. Also the weapon must stay in your house or auto and have the license with it. You cannot carry it out of your house or vehicle.

@Seeriousley What I wanted to imply is that the person who criticized this man's English should try to speak a language that is not his native language. So that he can see that it is not that easy and that his accent probably doesn't sound good either.
