Hey there Brandon, thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked it and it helped! My recommendation would be to just go for the R12 if you can afford it or to check out equivalent wheelbases such as Asetek or Simagic in the same NM range. You WILL want to upgrade pretty soon after getting used to the R5, I bet ya!
@chrismathewsjr8 күн бұрын
My suggestion would be to go with Simmagic out of the gate - 3 out of 4 of my Moza products were defective over the last two years. My R9v1 bricked a CSv1 wheel and the wireless transmitter was intermittent, making the repairs troublesome. It took months before Moza sent me a new part transmitter part, which worked worse and was difficult to replace. Finally they just suggested I buy a R9v2 and a new wheel. The HGP shifter I bought was DOA and would only shift up, so I just returned it. The CRP pedals worked fine.

Man, I really didn’t like it as much. I’ll take the Alpha mini over the entire moza line up any day of the week. With the price drop. The Neo+Mini+P1000 is a chefs kiss. I like it more than Asetek, la prima. The Moza is just not it. The software is 100 times better than simagic but the hardware feels lacking. It heats up after awhile and smells burnt. The pedals are ehh. Still a good product. Just comparing them to current market pricing. You could get something more raw. Moza is popular. They are selling a ton of units. Just don’t think it’s the better product. Idk man just my two cents, no hate just my opinion. Good work! Keep it coming.

Hey there and thanks a lot for joining the discussion. I'm totally cool with your opinion mate, no offense taken at all 😊 Unfortunately, I didn't get to test more simagic products other than the neo but I guess it's pretty solid quality gear! The nrg quick release is nice but mozas version has got issues , whether its quality control or poor materials but some new wheels have had loose fitting qr which causes a hideous rattling when in use also after time the wear and tear can cause the same rattling , there are videos online that show this issue , i actually think the Simucube and Asetek qr s are the most sturdy and robust .
@CKSimRacing5 ай бұрын
@bodasafur6078 Hey there, thanks for pointing that out. Regarding wear and tear, my R9 and both of my wheels didn't suffer from that fortunately. They still operate as if they were new, maybe I'm lucky 🙂 but maybe it's the same as with ratings on Amazon for products: lots of people are happy about their stuff without posting a review and the ones who've had issues are, of course, talking about it in their reviews. The only sign of wear was a little bit of creaking in my GS V2 wheel, which had developed over time, I've talked about it in my review as well. Regarding the Asetek and Simucube QRs...well, at least for one of them I can confirm that it's insanely sturdy and robust 😏 stay tuned and thanks for your comment!

I got my ES wheel in about a week but the base was MIA. I later found out via the Moza discord that the distributor here in the states ships everything via Amazon and although the website said the base was in stock, Amazon had it out of stock and when it was in stock, the price was higher than what I had paid. After 3 more days of waiting for it to ship once in stock and zero communication. I cancelled my order and went to a store to but the base at a cheaper price (Black Friday sale). The base is fine, just don't buy it from the Moza website and expect it to ship within a day or 2. I do wish I had waited and bought something else honestly. Asetek might've been my choice (thanks Matt Malone) or even Simagic but I'll hold on to this for now. Just not sure if I want to invest more money into the ecosystem by buying another wheel.

@Casketman20 Hey Casketman, now that sounds like an awful story, sorry for you mate! But yes, I have ordered the moza handbrake shortly after its release and it was shipped directly from China. @bobykim53114 ай бұрын
Coming from trustmaster TS-PC into MOZA R9 + KS wheel. Yes, there is a difference between belt driven and direct drive. BUT!...the forces per game are just the same. A DD wheel does NOT create the game FFB force. If a game lacks physics translation into FFB while under or oversteer, a DD wheel wont "create" those forces. The game devs should program it. So do not think a DD wheel will give you forces you did not feel before. The wheel can amplify but cannot create. All by all: very happy with the MOZA R9. Coming from TS-PC 6,5 NM running at 75%, 9NM from de R9 is more than enough for me.
@CKSimRacing4 ай бұрын
Hey there and thanks for joining the discussion! Absolutely true, the game telemetry is responsible for what you're feeling in the ffb and a DD won't give you more of that. The main difference that I remember between both systems was definitely the response time. The DD motor is just superior against the belt driven design in terms of performance. And yes, 9Nm is plenty and will probably be more than enough for most users. Congratulations for your R9!

The R12 is the biggest competitor? Let me disagree i think the alpha mini beats both BTW really high quality and straight to the point Oscilations,heat and the steps You mentioned everything good job! When i buy something that expensive the first thing i think is what could go wrong? What is the weak link? The mini has higher encoder,smoother with less steps,more mounting points and IMO much prettier Also the GT NEO i hear is better quality Moza choosing to go with the same encoder res with the R5 R9 is kinda disappointing Personally i cant find a reason why choose R12 insted of the mini

@tkdmp5698 Hey there, really good points, thanks for putting them in here and for entering the discussion! I'm absolutely convinced that the mini is the best choice of all the mentioned devices but I didn't have the chance to test it unfortunately. On paper its less Nm than the R12 but its about the same price. But the whole package is definitely better i guess! Regarding the GT Neo... 😄 stay tuned, there might be something on the way! And yeah I totally agree, I'm also relying on all the reviews here on KZbin and I watch every single one of them in order to justify my buying decision for myself because there is no "sim racing store" where I could try everything and make up my mind what would be the best product to get. Hey! I just wanted to let you know that newer versions of Moza R9v2 actually have front mounting now.
@CKSimRacing5 ай бұрын
Oh really? I checked the product description on MOZAs website but I couldn't find any info about that after reading your comment. It would be quite nice if they'd add the option for front mounting for sure but power output wise I think the R9 is gonna be fine when it's bottom mounted
@Sithhy18 күн бұрын
Are you sure? There doesn't seem to be a way to front-mount it unless you undo the bolts that hold it together & then screw it to the mount that way
@asSIMuNation5 ай бұрын
The cogging is because it is not true servo motor... Closer in structure to a stepper motor. Open it up and you can count the poles. So yea like i said, a lot of questionable product claims. And this extends to a lot of their other products.

Do they still overheat and cut at 7nm?

Short answer, yes, though I can't confirm whether it cuts at 7Nm. The long answer can be found at 16:30 in the video. Once dialed in correctly, it doesn't cut the power anymore and it won't clip as well
