All we need with an mpc is a memory card and the ram. The curation of samples is a lost producer skill due to the way storage has changed.

This ‼️… having everything sucks that “producer skill”…sometimes it’s good to step back and work with less…never felt more creative ever since.

Bro that’s crazy I went thru the exact same route. From the Live to the MKII, then I realized I needed to be more limited. Got the 2500 for like 6 months now and I’ve never been this inspired. You’re a huge inspiration also. Keep it up man really enjoying your content. One of the ones that create content and actually got FIRE beats too. Peace

Blessings bro - And word We all in the same boat lol…this is one of those situations where “less is more” actually works. Appreciate you. Got more stuff coming soon!

GAS is a real problem and we all go through it. Eventually we settle down on a load out that will be the signature for our sound. Keep killing it young king

I love seeing all these DJs & producers using the Numark ttx series tables. I remember 10-15yrs ago, DJs used to clown me for not using technics.

Love ya page my guy, jus sold my Live II, just rockin out wit the sp mkII now. Had my eyes on the 2500 for a while now, after this video I think Ima do it. Been trying to limit my self as well.

Gratitude bro - you won’t regret getting your hands on the 2500. Theres a learning curve, but that’s what makes it all the fun honestly. The limitations make it that much more intentional 💯💯💯

Super inspiring. Funnily enough I'm on a similar journey. Even the gear is similar. Started with a computer, no for me. Eventually upgraded to a new gen MPC. Love it but sometimes leads to overthinking. Got a 2500 a few weeks ago. Had to change all the tect switches but it's singing now. Going through the same thoughts regarding the HDD. Currently curating the sounds and using a 2GB CF. Also, I'm re-reading Dilla Time. I instantly thought about getting a new interface to take advantage of the outs but I think I'm gonna let go the spending mindset. Probably gonna grab CF cards, fill them, track them through the SP-404 and that's it. Appreciate this video very much. Great communicator and real gems.

Yeah it’s crazy, I thought having more would be better, but having less definitely did the trick. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the latest. Also I replaced a few tact switches and then the PCB board. But you on your way yo! And good looks! 💯💯💯

All of J Dilla's catalog was created with just 32 MB of sample time per beat. 😂 That alone puts everything in perspective. It's certainly arguable, as he was an early adopter of tech and primarily used Pro Tools for most of his work, incorporating some synths. However, the majority of his records were made with only 32 MB of RAM in the MPC 3000LE, and of course, with diskettes that held just 1.44 MB per beat.

@@0x2049 yup yup Dilla definitely was cooking up with some real limitations. It’s crazy

I feel you bro 💪🏽I rock with 2 gig SD cards on my XL. Hot swappable. One for drums, one for beats. Never been happier. Tryna sell my SP Mk II for an SP 202. I'm the most creative in that space!

Ah great minds think alike bro! The creativity is always there. And word that sp202 has a lot of grit in it…definitely worth it 💯💯💯

@@bonafidebeatz20 no worries. It was dope to hear someone out here pushin limitations instead of unlimited options (Daws, plugins, new mpcs, sp404s, etc).

How come whenever I sample directly into my 2500 from my turntable the sound is very thin even when I turn my gain all the way up? compared to when I sample into my MPC X it sounds full & loud
@bonafidebeatz203 ай бұрын
@@SolidKampSounds I’m wondering if it can be your PCB board - where you “Record In”. It’s a small circuit board. They sometimes fail. Usually that should be the fix. MPCStuff sells them. Also, what happens if you try a set of different cables? Worth a shot
