Actual facts. I've got 20 year old beats that still knock; not only that but the glue from the stereo outs? Untouchable! Yet to meet a machine I love more. Wish I still had one; crying!!

The 3000 will always be the greatest of all time. None of those cheap Numark/InMusic mass produced MPCs will ever compete. The quality just isn't even in the same level and i use to own an MPC5000 and it was trash. I ended up throwing it away after power supply went out given its known issue that effects all the 5000. Is was built by Numark full of Aleisis parts go figure!

I’ve noticed that the mpc software knocks harder than the new MPCs . I was searching for a video of someone showing how the MPC software is above the new MPCs and matches the quality of the older MPCs but nope . I have a MPC live 2 , a MPC 2000xl that I got from my uncle that passed. I think the software beats the new MPCs because it has more ram and processing power .

@@boomboombaby9140 I like the software, but prefer NI Maschine software due to its ease of use and better layout. I can honestly say whichever software you use, if you run it out into a hardware preamp back into a DAW, it tremendously elevates your sound. I use a warm audio WA-73 EQ and lightly compress with a golden age 2A compressor. I don’t run everything through it, just the drums and bass.

@@boomboombaby9140 I don't know about the software. It's the hardware that gives its sound. A DAW has no sound as its suppose to be transparent and clean. Your converters is the sound that gives its character and sonics. So depending on your audio interface, you can have a different sound. When you have weak converters its not going to slap hard. I use all MOTU hardware both MIDI and Converters. The converters on the MOTU 828es AVB interface are top notch converters up there with Apogee and I use to own an Apogee and compared it side by side. The sound of the DAC has nice punchy sound with a bit of warmth to it. My drums knock hard with a lot of dynamics. I can make them knock even harder when I run the outs of my DAW out of MOTU interface into my analog gear and back into the DAW.

@@dccarsonmusic I used the same drums and instruments from beats that knock on the software , mpc live 2 and the mpc 2000xl the mpc software and the 2000xl tied my mpc live was the weakest but still strong. I just found out that all the newer mpc uses the same software 🤯🤯the new MPCs are daws in the form of hardware same app . 🤯🤯

In the mix with a lot more vocals and instruments that goes down fast. Seen MANY comparisons and most people couldn't identify a Mpc60 or 3000 from modern day MPC's. You mention the 3000 but MPC 60 owners claim their MPC will sound even better.

I can absolutely concede to most of that. Most people cannot tell the difference. They can’t tell if something went through a Neve or SSL console either. The beauty behind the 3K and other analog gear is that the cumulative effects of these machines helps glue the track together. Instead of putting 5-6 compressors and eq’s on a track along with saturation, the analog chain helps make mixing a lot easier. Thank you for watching my video!

@@dccarsonmusic Your very welcome .... I must say that Akai should have done something to the circuitry, filters and convertors to add that old style quality to the awesome modern workflow. If they did MANY people would upgrade their existing MPC regardless of age.

@@dccarsonmusic the glue from the stereo outs on the 3000 makes it sound like it's been mixed outboard if you balance the internal mixer right, but when you use the individual outs and you run that through an analogue board, I've got to say that even my 2000XL doesn't match that weight and punch when used in a production, in my opinion

Nice video, question... I have an MPC 2000, I just put in a floppy card and loaded a kick drum. Are you telling me that this MPC 3000 that is in your video will make that same kick that I already loaded in my MPC 2000 knock harder ?

I have an OG 2K and it’s nice. Honestly, a lot of the stuff you hear about the older MPC’s is hype! While the 3K does have more punch and using the individual outs is preferred, the magic was really in the analog mixing consoles and recording to tape. You are good with the 2K.

You must be trolling. Infact your MPC X isn't even made by Akai or it shares anything in common with the real Japanese built MPCs of the 90s. The X is mass produced by InMusic. Akai Professional went out of business in the early 2000s. The real MPCS were built in Japan by the real Akai company company that Roger Linn worked and designed. There's a massive difference in quality between the real Japanese built MPC and the mass produced ones by InMusic.
