can we talk about how strong the intro is to Ricky's videos? Like the gentle hum, the coffee, the whole thing. Ive gotten to like the intro so much that as soon as I hear that hum I start immediately chilling and relaxing.

Here’s a looper thing…. On a blank drum track, set a pad with a single trigger note right at the beginning. A01 for example. While your modular is still playing from looper, export your recorded loop to the ao1 pad on the new drum program. From then on your loop will trigger on that program, and you can clear the looper and add something new. You can take this one step further and on a clip program now load the new loop as a clip sample. Sadly you can’t drop a loop straight to a clip.
@geecen3 жыл бұрын
That's a cool technique. I've been wanting to do multitrack looping on this thing!

@dracul743 жыл бұрын
I use the sampler over the looper for recording live instruments, etc. I find the advantage is that I can leave a little space at the beginning of the audio and later choose the ideal start so it sits in the mix the way I want.

Also, maybe you could do a Vlog about the MPC Live II… It’s my first MPC, I’ve owned it for a month, and watching you work helps me understand it. “He just did something… how do I do that? Why didn’t it work when I did it?.” Checks to make sure Ricky Tinez effigy is facing the correct direction, “oh look it works now..” That was meant all in good fun. And… could you show using the McPickle2 to control the Sirin (using CV)? It benefits me, I hope others too.

My man, as I tell people all the time (I work in IT), "Bad design isn't your fault." It almost literally hurt to watch that MPC freeze and glitch on you. One of the cool things about the MPC is the CV/Gate outputs on the back, allowing control of Eurorack stuff directly, even if you don't have a MIDI-type module in your case. I just started playing around with this stuff.

Good video! Love your channel. Been watching for awhile. It's refreshing to see producers using MPCs to make House Music. I am an Underground HipHop head (Boom Bap), but I love House music equally the same. I have always wanted to learn the techniques House producers use to put songs together on MPCs. Hey Ricky, thanks for the tutorial! I was wondering, have you found any workaround on the mpc live/one for clearing all note events on a track while the sequencer is running? I know you can hold pads + erase, but thats kind of a drawn out process when you're jamming with someone and just want to move on to another idea... for some reason that Erase window is only available when the MPC is stopped. Seems like the kind of thing I could have accepted with earlier boxes, but not today....

How did you sync the MPC to Eurorack? From my experiences the Looper does not like MIDI clock in from another device / even disables recording. So you must have sent midi clock out from the MPC to eurorack ? Details are very welcome 👍🏻
