I wish you had a Discord or place to hang out Ricky, I'm one of your latest fans but since I met your channel I've been enjoying the hell out of your content and style, your chill vibes and point of view going from full technical to straight vibes only without never sounding arrogant, picky, but always humble and dedicated. I honestly admire you, and I don't even produce House music but freaking Synthwave lol, but regardless of music and genres, I'd love to see more sample packs from you, more content, more insights, because you seem one of those rare people who spread positive vibes and make life easier to the ones surrounding you. All the best bro, knowledge really is power but with your fine taste and attitude, even heart gets his shiny moments, peace! :)

It has become part of my Sunday morning to get me my first cup of coffee of the day and watch the video you have uploaded. You have your special way of, well, being entertaining, as well as inspiring … and I always find something to learn, to pick up and try. It is just great! That said, I want to thank you: for putting in the time, again and again, for sharing all those things in your unique and friendly way. Thank you, Ricky! Doing all that, your music, sharing your music making along with lots of other things, and all that on top of your day job … 'appreciating it' may be the correct phrase, but it totally fails to express the gratefulness on my side for what you are doing.

For myself personally I've been most fascinated with the MPC 4000 and 5000. You could almost use the $5,000 as a multi-track recorder and editor and do everything on the 4000. The 4000 is my favorite unit!
@thumbnailgreen9155 Жыл бұрын
Nice Ricky. I have just finished building my straw earth building and the 4000 is the centre piece - I have a similar speed and flow to you though more often hip hop - sometimes house - I remember messing about with Phillip Glass samples on the q-link cut-off and had fun like that. Love seeing your work flow.

I remember starting to watch your videos a while ago to learn how to use things and having no idea really what house music was, it just wasn't my jam. But man between these and compact creations, there's something so mad at watching the track get built up, that I finally *got it* and I just start GROOVIN'. I've started listening to rando house music mixes on youtube and everything. Thanks for the inspo ricky!

Hey Brother... I am thoroughly enjoying these vidz - I've dusted off my MPC lately as well, and diggin the results... I've been using the exact same workflow when chopping and testing out ideas for the past 15 years. Including the live filter use. And I've used the same sample from Tracklib, with very similar results LOL. Great to see like minds. This video makes me want to go back to my MPC 1000 or 2500 instead of the One. Chopping things up goes quicker in the One, but filtering live is much more fun on the older MPC's.

Wow so cool. what a vibe! I own some Elektron gear, had an MPC 5000 and h a t e d that thing, just could not deal with it. But I do want to slice samples. So now what? Get an Octatrack which is cool but so limited - which might be good - or give one of those MPC live things another chance. I don't know. Choice isn't always a good thing hahaha.

Great video as always. RE the MPC - i think I'd like to smash away at those nice big pads and make beats and basslines, but everything beyond that (the editing and fine-tuned stuff) doesn't appeal to me as much as other hardware/ software. Interesting though.

Hey Ricky.. I have a problem when playing sounds like pads or long basses on the pads of the MPC4000. I have no mute group selected and not using one shots. I play a long note on the first pad. When I hitting another pad while holding this pads both sound play. But when I release the first pad then the second pad stops to . Do you know this phenomenom?

This was fascinating, I totally missed old school sampling back in the day and want to give it a go now (albeit digitally with Ableton). Did I hear correctly that the samples practically wrote a bassline themselves when you low pass filtered them? At least it sounded like a damn sweet bass groove.
