As an IT guy and software developer I have NEVER heard a more sound reason to use a micro SD with adapter instead of a SD card. The switch "should" have only "protected" the card and broken I would only expect the card to be unwritable but you experienced WAY WORSE. I literally went from, "nah, don't use a micro... Oh, wow nevermind good reason". The tab is just something extra in the way to pull at, etc. I imagine that a fragment of the tab is touching something. Or worse, breaking the tab caused damage to the circuitry. If you still have the card, you should be able to gently pry open the plastic and swap the circuitry inside with a new SD card. Anyway, good video so far, so, new sub for you my friend.

I have recently bought the jog wheel for my MPC one I love using it but the only thing that does suck it’s that you can’t use the enter button to top of the jog wheel. It’s fine I can just use the touch screen to to hit enter but it was cool to do it from the big button/ the jog wheel. I still love it tho
@djprecision6500 Жыл бұрын
ARe you talking bout the "click" function? if so, you need to slowly re-install it. Tighten the tiny screw while floating the jog wheel so that its not sitting flush to the base of it's area.
@realjravage Жыл бұрын
@@djprecision6500 i’ve tried that, but it didn’t work. Did yours work fine when you did it.
@djprecision6500 Жыл бұрын
@@realjravage Yes. I read about this in the reviews before i bought it off amazon. Does yours have the allen wrench and tiny screw? You have to pre-tighten the screw, then try to get it as CLOSE as possible to where it barely fits around the MPC's post. hold the jog wheel in position (make sure it's enough to where it clicks) then tighten the screw. It took me about 10 minutes to do it properly

I have a 64GB SanDisk,that I upgraded with a Kingston 256GB card. The latter is faster than the first one but it loads and saves way slower. Maybe because it's bigger? Dunno. That XT PowerBank is something I ended up buying and I can recommend it,at least at first sight. As you said, I don't know about the long term usage, but to couch sessions it's amazing. I'm also thinking about going outdoors with it to record a video.

The 32 ohm headphones are for smaller devices like a smartphone and the 80 ohm headphones are for an interface because they have enough power to drive them. I use the 32 when I'm listening to stuff off of my phone, and the 80 in the studio.

I bought the MPC Live II instead: an internal battery, the ability to add internal SSD for storage, and more connectivity options make it a better machine for me. Don’t need to carry battery packs or SD cards… Also for some operations you can just tap the Q-Link knobs on the Live II but maybe replacing with all-metal knobs will work ?

What’s up bro, thanks for the video. I also started using a power bank with my MPC One, the square shaped one that you initially showed, however I am looking into other ones that fit and look nicer on the machine, just wasn’t a fan of having this big block hanging off the top corner. Does the one you use fit decently on the side of the machine or was there a reason you decided to mount it on the bottom? Are you able to use it almost like a stand when you’re using the unit? Thanks man.

Yes I put it on the bottom because I feel it took up too much space on the side and it does function like a completely standalone unit.

Just a heads up for anyone installing after-market knobs or this particular knob with the thumb divot. They are not D-cup fitted like the standard knob, you have to install it with a provided Allen wrench, but make sure you don’t let it sit too low on the knob fixture otherwise you will not be able to click it for selecting menu items. And there’s even a point where you can click it but the selection won’t register, so you have to play around with the heigh before you tighten it on, just make sure you’re able to click the knob and it actually registers when menu diving. Changed my pads and knobs recently and got scared that I fucked things up when it wouldn’t click or register.

@delkody3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can do any genre of music in a MPC. It's just that a lot of boom bap producers use it because that's what was the most common production tool at the time when that music was popular. But you can still use it to make modern beats west coast East Coast trap EDM whatever.

The drivers are in the 2.7.2 MPC Software installer (not the firmware installer) - re-run the installer, select MPC One and on the right there should be options to install the driver. Reboot after installation.
@caseyphear33282 жыл бұрын
I would have to put this in a top five videos about the mpc one..and I've seen most of em. You even addressed the q-link knobs that are designed to get in my way all day and make the screen go somewhere so i lose track of ___ , or secretly changes my metronome settings any time i loom over them to reach the screen..., but then you did not fail to point out the fact it wasn't designed to navigate more than a floppy drive's worth of samples. I spend half of my time swiping down on the screen through 1.3GB of samples and chops of those samples, etc that are all put in a single folder with no scroll bar or any alternative solution to get from sample 01 to zample zero quickly. No one else cares about this stuff or what? i can't even say. One more thing, I was hoping you would have a solution in this video -- the 4GB internal storage in my MPC One is actually more or less no internal storage. On day 1, after i brought the mpc one home i loaded every program i could find into it, started a new project and saved it to the internal drive. with all the hidden files, the 2 projects were about 1 GB each so i was having a rough time for the next 9 months thinking that its just clunky and buggy. Then i got into the mpc-forums, everyone in the community is in agreement, saying i really can't even save a single project or anything to the internal storage, and can't upgrade or delete the factory content either. . Basically the reason for that is the internal storage is used by the ram for scratch disk / page file usage --- so the more stuff you load into ram and the less space you have free on the internal drive, the quicker the MPC will get all clumsy, randomly locking up, freezing, making weird latency and delays, causing you to flip out and slam the power button and lose everything you didn't save. I never have that kind of problem on a 1000 or 4000. I can load stuff until it had 4 k free - they still run flawlessly. i have 2 GB of RAM in the MPC one -- I want to load 2GB of samples and do a 90-minute live set without stopping to think about file management or system resources, or what firmware im using today for whatever the current priority is, or if i should have bought a second MPC One so i had a spare to juggle in case this One does something weird. It even gets mad if you do too much slicing and chopping new programs. I didn't really get what you were saying about the battery pack -- its cool to have it attached to it like that but if its just staying in the studio you can just plug it into a battery backup like what you would use for a computer. I have everything in my studio plugged in to APCs because they protect all of my equipment from regular surges and low-voltage surges, and will power everything in your studio for hours if the power goes out in a storm or whatever. The APC-40 has 16 of those knobs with the lego caps. Its pretty much a big spare knob and spare crossfader holder. Cresshead mentioned -- a laptop stand is also really helpful with these. I found one from dell at a thrift store, and everyone thinks it was made for the mpc one. it lifts and pivots, but holds the mpc in place, absorbs shock and holds my cables in place. I was also hesitant to plug an external drive into it, until i did it. Since it only uses the internal drive with the ram as a swap disk, it only loads and saves to the external and sd cards when you tell it to so its a safe option. Its definitely faster saving to my micro sd, but having a 500GB ssd and a 2TB for archiving gives me more options and makes me forget about the lack of space on the internal drive. Its really a pain to move or backup anything you save on the internal drive anyway, but i dont like having to load expansions on to the sd card or external - when you get disk issues those expansions will start flaking out and wont show up until you plug the drive into a pc and run chkdsk. Quality material - good stuff in the comments too - i got to say I learned some good stuff and i look forward to the next 5.
