I find that Serato Studio has the best stems package within their production equipment. It’s also much cheaper if you know what you’re doing. Going from programa like pro tools and reason to serato studio was a shocker for me. I still think that was a good move🤷🏾‍♂️

The discard bug been such a pain for years. Bring able to control the volume of the sample in edit would be great too. Annoying things that make you wonder if Akai even uses their own product.

Another problem I'm facing. I bought some expansion packs from the website just to find out I can't use them on the key 37, it would have been nice to know that beforehand. At this point it's all of these little things that is setting akai back. 💯🤟🏽

You can use them on the 37.. make sure you always download the exe. Of the expansion. You can install that on your pc then export it to sd once you do that. Akai don't explan that on the website. Always download the exe. If you have windows. If you have it installed on your pc you can transfer the expansions to ANY of the MPCs. Doesn't matter witch one bro. Don't worry just get that exe assuming you have windows

Mr.Ave I am new to the MPC Although I had The 500 1000 2000xl 2500 3000 5000 never used any of them when I got them i just sold them all Now I have Mpc live 1 The got stems on it when take a sample and stem them out, when i go to program edit i don't see on my screen where you can turn volume up or down on each stems.

is it possible to CHOP a Sample, convert it to a program and then control the different stem layers afterwards ? actually just like "Serato stems" chop the sample, sequence it and mute vocals, drums etc on the whole program/sample (on every chop at the same time) afterwards as needed. is that possible ? All im seeing on the internet is people having one sample on 1 pad and controlling the stems. I'm trying to control all layers on all the chops at the same time after sequencing.

I'm Late to party... the Discard disappears when you have the wrong mode selected. I forgot which mode.. but I discovered this a few months ago. It may be the Trim/Chop modes...

Just a heads up for anyone that may still be having problems with STEMS. Akai failed to inform us that you can only use STEMS if you have MPC 2 software not MPC Beats. This could be another issue many people are having.

Good to see I wasn't the only one having issues. Crashed on me twice. I decided to export the stems, then work in standalone. But peep this, it crashed on me in standalone also. 😂🤣😂🤣 I think 2.14 needs some work.

Downloaded it no problem and used it no problem the next day I'd put a sample in and it crash, now when I go to separate stems it's say mpc stem seperation canceled

Here in UK mine still has not been sorted. Am still at the same as I was on Tuesday. Very frustrating after waiting for this since it was first announced & I went out & bought the MPC one just for the stems....I upgraded that & received the MPC live 2 on Tuesday as stem seperation was released. I still have no activation button available to me.....patience is a virtue so they say...then I must be filled virtue surely......PMSL

i have to say that in my case the mpc software has crashed quite often and most of the time directly after i have chopped my samples and started to record the first track. (even before this new update) now, after this has happened quite often, i have gotten used to saving my project directly after chopping, then closing and restarting the software, then reloading my project and only then starting to build the beat. this way hardly any crashes happen. hope this helps one or the other.,

Great deep dive Controller mode hasn’t crashed on me in 2 years😂 Akai definitely need better bpm detection that drum loop should have been easy Serato sample - to edit the waveform, load it, separate it, bounce each layer

I am new to MPC I have the MPC key 37 and there's a lot of bugs and glitches with it. The main problem is the RAM. Everything will transpose and upload faster. The more RAM you have. That's the problem ram storage and software are there three big issues 💯🤟🏽

like any hyped online server-based software first day release there will be issues with overdemand, glitches and bugs....it's standard in 99% of online games released nowadays. The server team always fix and demand drops, I guess a lot of the moaners have never played a day one 1st person shooter release or they just enjoy moaning

It took four hours for it to finally land. I paid for it around 11 am and when I got home...nothing😢 When I checked my account...it was already registered. Wow!!! Cool...so I surmised that it was acting like the premium plugin collection which took about 6 hours to validate on my 37. After updating all the driver requirements in the computer it was on and stemming 😂

The problem with a kai is the ram. They are putting way too little ram in their products. Any future upgrade to their current devices should have no less than 6 gig of RAM 💯🤟🏽

8-16 gigs of RAM Memory is what's needed these devices require to much processing that's why computers require so much RAM is at least 8gig minimum for music production all about speed and stability

Hey man, the comment about NI, you do remember NI were the first to offer a form of stems. In Traktor they brought out stem decks and stem tracks already broken into 4 parts. So although they didn't have on the fly Stem processing, it was still stems all the same. Shout out the NI people's. Ave, carry on doing what you do man.

Stems were a thing way before NI/Traktor... Stems have been used in production for decades... Yes NI/Traktor was the first to use stems in a DJ software but it wasn't stem separation like you said.
