Very smooth beat, the type you can just kick back and vibe out to. I just did an experiment on one of my beats. I made it at 85 bpm because i always work in standard time. Then i made the same beat at 170 bpm and i have to admit it sounds alot better at double time, so much smoother and doesnt sound so squashed and robotic. Looks like i will be working at double time for now on.

Man Dubs Banger your style is just fire and so on point; and, your sound is definitely very quality. Do you use any outboard gear, EQ or Pre-amp for your sound?
@dubsbangermusic
@dubsbangermusic Жыл бұрын
i really appreciate that, thank you... i dont use any outboard gear, everything is out the box... i double up my samples with one being only a filtered out bass sample... the drums are layered with 3 kicks two hi hats sometimes two snares... effects on the kicks and snares ive recently started playing around with air flavor, im not a huge fan of the sound on the x as compared to my 2000xl with the onboard 16 effects card... but the machine is cool and i can sample in different ways and load up samples as well into the machine with ease and go through drums...

This is super dope. It amazes me how everyone's workflow is so different. I'm moving from the MPC Ren to MpcX and was curious to see how you extracted the samples to assigned pads. I'm still in the rabbit hole because I worked hybrid on my ren with mpc and computer but I want to stay in standalone mode on the X. Peace and blessing my brother. Great work!
@dubsbangermusic
@dubsbangermusic Жыл бұрын
thank you so much i really appreciate that. its pretty much the same thing to assign it to the pads, youll get use to the workflow after a week of messing around with it... ive never used the ren but i would imagine that the programming came from the ren and evolved into what it is now... youre going to notice that the sound is different than conventional mpcs and kinda weak but you can raise the volume and add effects to it...great weapon of choice as you can do so much with it...

Such an interesting video seeing your production technique. I have a couple of questions. What’s the advantage of using double time? Not really something I’ve tried before. Also do you assign your chops starting on the top row at pad 13 with the first 4, followed by the next 4 at pad 9-12?
@dubsbangermusic
@dubsbangermusic Жыл бұрын
ahhhh you pay attention... i assign my chops from top left to bottom right backwards because im able to fit all my chops from last to first as when you extract the audio from the sample. this is a habit ive developed using the 2000xl. when i would trim my samples i want them to be in order and its easier to assign the samples to the pad from last to first as the most recent audio track will be the first to come up... do you know what i mean? if i only had 8 samples i assign the last sample to the last pad and so on. i dont use from the first pad so my samples will be in order. I use timing off on everything so using double time acts like a metronome and keeps everything aligned for me. I recomend you try using it, itll give you a natural swing...
@DJFurio
@DJFurio Жыл бұрын
@@dubsbangermusic yeah I was paying attention closely lol. Assigning from the top row backwards sounds pretty good. I usually end up scrolling all the way back to the first one that I extracted to assign it to pad 1. Your way could work well. I will give it a try. That double time technique sounds great now you’ve explained the advantage. Great tip. Keep up with these great videos my man.

hey bro I have a question when it comes to mixing, do you put all the samples at least 18 db so as not to saturate or directly lower the faders to the gain that you think is fine to start putting eq and comprecion, you know from the so-called gain structure I hope can you help me greetings
@dubsbangermusic
@dubsbangermusic Жыл бұрын
on the mpc i make sure the levels arent hitting in the peak reds... i dont have a set level for chops in general... it depends on what i want to be heard... you need to play around with your levels to find whats suitable for you... i dont have any gains for my 8 audio inputs theyre all set to 0

@@dubsbangermusic ok bro gracias por el dato es que yo vengo del fl studio y para mezclar hago mis estructura de ganancia a -18db para no tener problemas y dejar un buen espacio para plugins y aparte soy principiante en esto gracias saludos desde México
@dubsbangermusic
@dubsbangermusic Жыл бұрын
@@creamyfingersbeats2050 its a lot easier for me to reply in english for music terms... if youre still using fl studio, i would recomend that you send all your kicks to a single eq track, all the kicks that you use now get sent to another track where you will add compression to this one track that all kicks get sent to. the same applies for your snare and hi hats if youre using more than one. you make this template in the eq section before you make your beat so when you add you kicks and snare hi hats etc it will already be routed to the eq so you wont have to do -18db. let me know if this makes sense to you. Dime si entiendes esto. Empece a hacer beats en fl studio. gracias mucho mucho mucho
