This is great news. I feel like we need another setting on Track Mutes which allows us to set the Mute style to Audio or Midi. Audio Mute would cut off immediately, and Midi Mute style would allow the audio to trail/fade out with whatever tail is present on that track. What do you think?

@@modtheblackmarvel I don’t think it is, I’ve done a ton of research. But I don’t think there is a Warp function that will change pitch and speed (no time stretching) as you change BPM. Please tell me how to do it if there is a way

​@@Ancaja123You can also do this in 3 if you understand how to calculate pitch in relation to bpm (1 semitone =5bpm) so when you go to the samples tab in program edit, or even just the sample edit screen, just make sure your clip isn't warped

What sucks my man Marlo is that Akai take out certain old features and kinda sneak them back in with new names.On the 1k 25k and 5k and also the ren 1.0 software the sample to audio was called Patch Phrase .That feature was my go to on the 5k cause the 5k didn't do audio warping like the Roland MV.Like the random chops that was on the 5k and 1.0 software.

7:52 You were already always able to do this with drum programs. Just convert the chops to a program and use the option to place events of the chops for the amount of bars and you would get the same result as this but with midi instead of audio.

Very good. Those Travis Scott style 1/2 times are now easier. I guess in 2.0 you’d have to separately timestretch - now it automatically does it based on track tempo. Very good!

@malo, I am new to MPC, i just got mine over the summer, im using the MPC ONE + I use your channel extensively for learning. My main question to you is, should i , as basically a brand new user, upgrade to 3.0 ? Or should I become familiar and comfortable with MPC 2. I did too. One thing that I noticed was that it didn't allow me to save the project if I used stems. I used to have to record via audio output into my DAW

A blessing that Track Mute is back. For many it was a reason to downgrade. It's nice to see how it develops with the new features. However, I miss simple things like muting individual tracks directly in the Arrange window. It was also overlooked that there is a bug in the main window. When you activate Solo and navigate through the tracks, Solo cancels itself. Thanks for your video

Yo this is amazing for someone like me who likes to mess with my BPM AFTER I program my drum break chops.. if I save my programmed drum track as a sample and then slice that sample to audio like you mentioned, I'm golden!! Appreciate the way you broke this down G! Also.. what you mentioned makes me wonder. I'd love to see AKAI upgrade the standalone warp engine before the official MPC 3 release.. I'm sure its possible if they managed to do the same with stems seperation. Maybe put in the good word?! 👀

Just a note… Akai adopted Zplane’s stem separation for MPC. The MPC desktop software uses the pro version, and the MPC standalone uses the standard version. That is the primary reason for the difference in quality. Using the pro version may require more RAM.

We added an improved Stems version inside Standalone which takes slightly longer to render providing better results.

The warping is the same .as long as you chop it . Select al chops set tempo it did acxacly this .. already in 2 .they just made it easier i guess. Still good video 👊🏾

I have a question, because I’m still not comfortable switching over yet lol. Even though I put it on one of my MPCs So I get what you just did. As for as the audio feature, but when you were adjusting the BPM of the sequence the melody was also changing. (Which is great) but did that happen on its own? Or did you do something to the melody chop to follow the bpm change.

May have come across a bug but I can’t find where to contact akai… When I have my sample in the pads and I want to stem out an individual pad let’s say I hit pad 6 it will not recognize that pad and will stem out pad 1. Even if I switch it in the pop up box “assign to” anyone else have this issue?

New theme for the video: it would be great if we had the ability to chop samples along the lines of - kick, snare, like we've done before, record a track and use stems in that track. That is, we wouldn't have to cut each track (bass, drums, etc.) after stems separation. It is more convenient to cut the whole sample once, and then play with stems on the recorded tracks. Like if you know what I mean. Leave a comment if you know how to explain it more clearly. Peace

No they are not. It does not mute the midi like it used to. It mutes the audio. So if you have reverb tails or delay going on it just cuts off as soon as you mute, it doesn’t just tail off like it used to. Such a bummer!

If you pitch down your turntable when sampling you have much more flexibility with your samples since pitching up doesn't cause the same degredation of audio. I have +/- 50 bpm range on my PLX1000, essentially unlimited pitching. This generation will say "I shouldnt have to do that Akai programmers should JUST write a better algorithm"....smh.
