What USB cable are you using on your Model 2400 to connect to the computer? Brand make model?

For those of you asking whether the Akai has midi or not? Nope, that is a DIN audio connector type 45124. This was later highjacked by the Midi consortium because it was ubiquitous and cheap. It is a (unwieldy) alternative for the 4 cinch connectors used. DIN stands for Deutsches Institut für Normung. Audio uses all 5 pins, MIDI only 3.

Thank you for rhe ideas and the wonderful video. I suppose the insert way can be used for recoding a multi track reel to reel, then play back from the multi track tape, mix on the board and send the main mix to a stereo tape or pc i suppose. Do you think it's a good way to go for an analogue workflow? Thank you in advance
@mpchead11 күн бұрын
Yes that is what I was thinking as well and that could be a interesting workflow. I think is just down to individual preferences. Maybe in the future I can get a multitrack tape recorder to try it out.

@@mpchead I suppose could be quite an interesting workflow. I wish all the best !! Cheers

Pretty Freakin Dope Marlow!!! 🔥🔥🔥How are we hearing the sound? More specifically the music. Do you have your mixer outputs wired & sent straight to your camera? Or is that speaker audio being picked up by your mic?

I record my audio separately into my audio interface. Then put audio with visuals together in davinci resolve

Could you run the reel to reel through the Aux of the tascam?
@mpchead10 күн бұрын
You can use the the auxiliar outputs if you want but I would use them with mono signals rather than stereo.

In this setup are you using your analog heat and other outboard gear? Just the Reel to reel and mixing board? Sound quality is good.
@mpchead11 күн бұрын
Just reel to reel and mixing board. Nothing else

Thanks Marlow Digs. I like the insert idea for the workflow. I have recently bought a Tascam TSR-8 half inch tape machine and my friend has just got a Fostex R8 quarter inch tape machine. I was thinking I might have to get an old mixer with a 8 bus sub group but your workflow here might be able to work for both of us. What do you think? Can your insert workflow work for muti track?

Akai 4000DS MK2, and if he paid more than 100 euros for it, he was too generous.

I made my own cables....high end plugs and all, learned to solder at the tender age of 12. First lesson, a hot iron looks the same as cold one. From that point the rest is easy.
