Ive often wondered if anyone else uses the Bluetooth connectivity in the Tascam to sample from iPad or cell phone! I do it often and it seems to work pretty good!

I'm using a Model 12 with the Key61 and absolutely love it, however I wish I would've gotten the 16 or even the 24 to get those extra channels, that way I could route most fo my project tracks to the USB "output" while keeping some free inputs for analog instruments, ie guitars, bass, vox.

Hmm…how are you routing signal from your Analog heat (physical cable routing)? Mono or stereo? Would love to see an in depth cable routing guide of your analog gear into the Tascam. In short, it seems like this could get rid of patch-bays?

So you can use each channel as either an input or an output. And when it’s used as an output the whole channel strip works? Sounds like you’d end up splitting the console and use one half as inputs and one half as monitoring outputs.usb Split console.

I recently got the Model 12. I love it for the outs when used with my MPC Live 2. But is there a way to utilize my Roland sp404mk2 within this set up for its effects? Before getting the Model 12, I would route the signal from outs 3/4 from the MPC into the sp404, and back out into the MPC. Now that I have the Model 12 as essentially my outs for the MPC, I cant figure out how to continue to use my sp404 in this new workflow. I've switched cables in every possible way I can think of but haven't figured it out. Again I only utilized the sp404 for its effects and not as my main sampler/sequencer, so there's got to be a way of getting them working together right?

I’m curious how the 2400 and BigSIX compare. Preamps, headroom, inserts, workflow, etc… Probably hard to compare since they are not the same beasts, but still.

I think the Tascam probably wins in routing and the big six in preamps, but I never tested the preamps on the big six. The pre amps on the Tascam are good and it also gives you the option of inserting your own preamps.

@ I tried it and it does work. I have my MPC Live 2 running inputs on channel 1-12 with guitar pedals as inserts on each channel. The signal is affected my the inserts.

@ mpc usb to model 12 w compressor in channel 1 insert doesn’t seem to work for me . I’m thinking it’s a calibration issue but I’m stuck and losing inspiration, trying to figure this out.

@TheLo31 did you try different cables? I have my cable going red to send signal and white to return. Maybe try swapping the send and receive signal.

​@@TheLo31 The onboard compressor does not work in USB mode. It only works in live mode. If you're wanting to route in an external compressor, assuming thats what u r wanting to do, you can: 1. take the input of your compressor and plug it into the fx port on your tascam, 2. then from the output of your compressor to a track on your Tascam. Make sure that track is set to Live. Turn the gain up and the slider up to receive more signal. You can use the eq as well if you wanted. 3. Now the FX knob on all the tracks are routed to your analog compressor! I have another solution for stereo compressors! 1. Take the L/R input channels of your stereo compressor and plug them into the 2 Aux outputs on the Tascam. 2. then take the L/R outputs of you compressor and plug them into 2 of the channels on your Tascam. Be sure to pan the one channel left and one channel right. 3 Now you can use mon 1 and 2 knobs on any of the channels to receive signal from your stereo compressor! I have one more solution! You can also use a single aux output in the same way as the FX knob! I hope that helps!

@@XanderEwald I have an SSL big Six, and then I sold it for an Antelope Audio Orion Gen 4 32+. I sold it because the noise floor on the inputs was incredibly high (when I turned up the volume with my synths as the inputs). I could hear the audio distorting and It was doing my head in. With my new interface, the synths sound pristine, and I no longer have that noise floor issue.

You base this on a compressed file format over KZbin that could be set to 480p? Must say the recording in the beginning comes out loud with some distortion probably recorded te vid a bit to loud imo.
