MPD32 Live Experience

First live experience with MPD32
Software: Ableton
I just looped some samples, made the beat, devide both and put them on the faders. (then activated them)
For the remake, I used some biggie and mobb deep lyrics.
At the end just used the same samples, but pitched.
I tried to scratch some parts, but the scratch sucks, so I freestyled the rest....

Hi doode, I just purchased an mpd232 and I cant figure out how to asign functions on the faders, the knobs and the switches, I only found the general volume, and the pitch, but pitch only works on the closed hat, I don't know why. I do this by choosin midi CC numbers and asign one to each knob, fader etc, but almost all the CC numbers don't seem to work, could you help ? you seem to know what the fuck this shit is about, thanks for answering, BTW the beat is dope, I enjoyed it

+Daniel Gardner there are a few plugins which can do tape stop/scratch fx...sugarbytes makes a few. mpd is just a controller, no sounds in it ( I have one myself)

It's a MIDI controller, no internal sounds. It supports USB MIDI and traditional MIDI DIN for use with older gear.

It was just a first experience on trying a live on the MPD. I just sampled a sequence of gasoline's song that I really enjoyed, nothing else... It's just a simple reproduction of it, no one said it's an original or supposed to be.

How easy is it to both operate the MPD 32? And are the pads really that hard to press? You make it look so easy. I'm currently searching for a simple controller that, I can use without necessarily adding a keyboard. Does it have any extra software CDs that you have to load? Or is it just a plug & play mode? Do you think that I would be able to use an Akai MPD 32 relatively easily?
