Is that the Jetta 1.9 TDI? It's a bit underpowered for a heavy mid-sized truck isn't it? Without a tune, you're looking at 100HP/180TQ tops. That 5.13 rear gear and 4 speed AOD transmission aren't gonna help with economy - 2800+ RPM at cruise is WAY too high. Power peaks before 2K and that motor redlines at 4K. I had a 2004 Dakota with the 4.7 V8 and 3.55 rear with 30" tires, it cruised at 2200 RPM at 70-ish.

If you check out my KZbin I've got the Jetta 1.9 running 200 hp and more torque then the stock V8. With bigger Turbo peak torque comes in at 2500 rpm and I have red line up to 5500 all on stock engine internals. She moves it along great but yes obviously a bigger engine would have been a more logical choice. Problem is this is my fourth Swap and I had enough parts laying around to throw this together for free 😂

@@TDISwaps Why not an AX 15 aside from youre running automatic?? I guess it d be a pain in ass to put a clutch n manual in it. still a nice truck. I take it you had to carry the heavy tools to go do a job out of town??? Id never carry that much weight on the ALH unless I had to. Only thinkin youd get a lot better mpg without all the tools in back. Still a nice mpg loaded down. thanks.

@Indianrider65 ya I only carry stuff when I have to, but its definitely a heavier truck than I was hoping so mpg suffers even unloaded. But its the wife's rig so I wanted it build strong and keep it auto for her, I don't think she can break it but we will see 😂

How does desiel swapping and emissions work like can you do thay if you have mandatory emissions requirements?

I haven't honestly messed with emissions States to know, but it sounds like they can get pretty nasty about it unfortunately 😞

@@TDISwaps it is really depressing seeing thay some of the engine swaps like a k24 or 5.9 cummins which are reliable are not allowed because they are jot new enough and emissions are crazy kind of bulshit tbh
