Well you shouldn’t have 5000 beds in hotels. If there is no beds for them, they won’t come. If there’s no meals for them, they won’t come. Since you probably already filled the cheaper ones with the thousands you seem able to justify already, despite the nature of their arrival and questionable status, these are probably actually nice hotels. Word in Europe will spread that the gifts from the British tax payer are getting more plentiful. And if you are paying for them anyway, put some homeless people in them. Put some veterans in them. Put some down on their luck pensioners in them. Put some victims of domestic abuse in them. We have people in desperate situations and real need in this country too.

Worked in public sector for 6 years as middle to senior management team level and the corruption across the whole sector is outrageous... I worked with local, NHS and regional organisations... never ever work again in public sector... so many things wrong... people getting structured out for balloon pension payments when not needed... assets not been renewed when business case proves pay back in 3 years... so called procurement specialists, not undertaking correct dudiligance checks and multi mullion pounds of products going to land fill because it wasn't standard... and no one held to account... I was brought up from a labour background (council estate) and joined thinking I can make difference... I am now a convert to privatise the whole thing as its all run by majority of incompetent people at high levels and those who are competent just go along to not loose the benefits of public sector working... annual leave, pensions, easy ride, sick pay etc...
