Right now, I'm in Japan for the first time. I just spent four days in Tokyo, Roppongi, and am currently in Kyoto for a few days after riding a Shinkansen (bullet train). Then, I'm heading to Osaka tomorrow for a few more days before returning to Tokyo, Shinjuku for several days, and back to SF.

Hearing all those movie releases, makes me wanna not bother. Every movie with the travel, food, drink is £20-£30. Twenty movies is a cheap holiday. I'd rather see another country instead of funding the studios. The desire to get to the cinema is less and less over the years.

Also with all the negative lead up, I was pleasantly surprised and kind of loved that Mickey 17 trailer. That song choice was a low key MVP for setting the tone and making me get into its absurdity. Pattinson is incredible and hope this movie hits
@SoulStylistJukeBoxАй бұрын
Yeah, but two hours of Pattison using that silly voice? Kinda reminds of the criticism Nicholas Cage faced back in ‘86 for the voice he used in the film Peggy Sue Got Married. Some feel the nerdy voice he used made the film a tough watch.

While I don't personally feel that Agatha All Along is my cup of tea, spooky season is such a vibe. It definitely has the potential to attract an audience and serve as a fun show to watch during this time

Agatha looks pretty good to me. Although, I don’t think it will do well. It should have come out shortly after WandaVision

I think there is 2 ways to Ted's comments. 1) Netflix is a great place to stream movies that normaly you don't go to see in theaters anymore like rom-coms & some lower budget movies like Rebel Ridge. 2). Most of their big budget movies are not that great and should have been theatrically released like Rebel Moon PG-13 cut.

Was it a good idea for Pattinson to use that silly comedy voice for Mickey 17? If the movie underperforms, can that accent be blamed? Also: it get the sense that the trailer is the entire movie.

Has having movies squeezed together only bring low profit for companies looking to make a profit. Will the movies been seen not going to reach there potential. Another bad year or a good one for some.
@ChrisTheAspergerGuyАй бұрын
Ted Sarandos is full of shit. If Netflix was really doing as well as he's saying, then he wouldn't keep jacking up the prices. Plus, putting at least some of their movies in theaters with wide releases would actually bring in more revenue quicker than simply relying on subscriptions and ads. It would also do them a solid to cut back on some of the stuff they make that they barely promote and nobody ever sees, which would save them money in the process. But I guess that's too logical for them. As for Agatha, I'm glad to hear you and Sadie are digging it so far. I can imagine watching it with her helps a lot with that. As for The Sims movie, I'm very curious how that'll turn out, especially as a live-action one. It sounds like it might be better off as a movie than a TV series from what that article was saying. And that Mickey 17 trailer was hilarious lol. I've known about that movie for a while and the premise sounded interesting, but I had no idea it was a comedy. That's definitely something to look forward to in January. I'm not worried about that release date either. Considering all the stuff it would have to compete against if it were to be released later in the year, I think putting it January is a smart move.
@mladenkulic446Ай бұрын
The Sims live action sounds a bad idea to me. Plus you already have The Sims live action it's called Reality TV.

@slevin003Ай бұрын
Respectfully you should look more deeply into the allegations around Mr Beast before going so soft on him. Sounds like you may not be fully aware of the crimes and conduct he's been accused of with pretty compelling supporting evidence. HIs philanthropy is 1. a business that he makes a profit on and 2. a cover for his actual behavior. The dude literally put a man thru solitary confinement torture that is banned by the geneva convention, aka a war crime. The Mr Beast games is just a continuation of the lack of professionalism and safety in his company and a continuation of in particular his misogynistic treatment of women on his sets.

@@Aussie27Legend Yes that is true but the wait is already an issue for a lot of people more so than the quality having this online spat to the author of the story does affect the casuals. A good example is the backlash with the Witcher and it being so different from the source material, I rarely was online around the time when that started happening but I could tell from interviews in behind the scenes and the tv reporters there was starting to be unrest in fandom by the comments from the showrunners
