Billy sheenen and Paul Gilbert two of the best to pick up instruments

You should check out the latest album from ROXANNE. The song “It Looks Like Rain” has a killer solo from Paul Gilbert. The entire album is great. Their first album was released in 1988. Then after 30 YEARS they released their sophomore album Radio Silence. It is awesome. Then in 2023 they released their third Stereo Typical. Stereo Typical has the song “It Looks Like Rain” which is actually a remake from their 1988 debut. They sound exactly the same today as they did in 1988. They weren’t “Hair Metal” from their beginning.

Mr. Big are an amazing band! This was released back in 1989. The band was considered an all star band when the band was put together. The bass player had performed with a band called Talas and was the bassist for David Lee Roth prior to Mr. Big. The guitarist was in a band before Mr. Big called Racer X. Top notch musicians!! The drummer recently past away.

An absolute materclass of musicianship and not a word was mentioned. That to me is as jawdropping as the playing. Mr. Big rules!!!!.

One of these perfect bands that sometimes pop up in music, Saw a live show with them in japan and they kept swapping instruments and they all can sing, loads of musicality in this band. As someone already said Pat torpey the drummer was sick a long time and is no longer with us.

some of the greatest rock musicians to ever grace the stage. Paul Gilbert on guitar still considered one of the best in the world. Same with BIlly on Bass. Pat was an amazing drummer, he passed in 2018 to Parkinsons at 64. Very sad deal, he was the heartbeat of this band.

Mr Big one of the best 80's rock bands. You should check out Damn Yankees - come again. They are a super group with Tommy Shaw, Jack Blades, Ted Nugent and Michael Cartellone. It has amazing vocals and a great guitar riff you won't be disappointed.

Billy Sheenen was one of the first bass player that did the tapping on the fret broad style of playing. He came to national prominence playing with David Lee Roth band, but I remember him playing with a regional famous band called Talas. One of the best bass players of his generation.

Yeah Mr Big. Eric Martin vocals Paul Gilbert guitar Billy Sheenen bass Pat Torpey drums This is a band of really talented musicians Bassist Billy Sheenen is commonly considered one of the top 10 out there. Paul Gilbert is a shredder on that guitar, and of course Pat Torpey was a fantastic drummer who played in the pocket with flair and had good background vocals. Eric’s vocals speak for themselves

Yep, this is the late 80s, more specificially 1989, and the song is the lead single and opening track of Mr Big's self-titled debut. You have previouslt reacted to their ballad world-wide super-mega hit from their 1991 sophomore effort "Lean into it", namely "To be with you". Ring a bell? Yes - I knew it would! This song, however, is more their "true" sound, if you will, and you surely noticed the superlative talents of main man Billy Sheehan - one of the most legendary bassists in music history and the first bass guitar superstar in "mainstream" music. Van Halen asked him to join in the early 80s, when they were considering parting with their original bassist Michael Anthony (through NO fault of the latter). Though sorely tempted, Billy declined, since in his mind, his friend Michael was the ONLY possible bassist for Van Halen. He did, however, later join Van Halen singer David Lee Roth's solo band. Mr Big singer Eric Martin was also at one point considered for Van Halen, as well as MANY other bands (he's a sought after guy!). One of them being Toto, and to this day, when the guys from Toto meet Eric, they greet him with the words "there's the one who got away!". Your next Mr Big reaction should be "Daddy, brother, lover, little boy", so you get to see Billy Sheehan and guitarist Paul Gilbert solo-dueling using - electric drills! And it's a great song too.

Pat Torpey RIP. Great drummer. Check out Live at Budokan Japan 2009. They did Shy Boy. A song written by bass player Billy Sheehan in his earlier band Talas. He sings a few of the verses too. Again a great song with bass and guitar hyping each other. A must listen Also check out guitarist Paul Gilbert in his band Racer X that also features Judas Priest and Fight drummer Scott Travis. Could be Scarified

Thank you so much for reacting to Mr Big again! I just saw them in concert last month!! There was also a character 'Mr Big' in the old Bullwinkle cartoons. The evil couple, Boris and Natasha, were always on the phone with 'Mr Big'. He was their boss... Finally, your next stop should be Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy. Why? Because it's drill time!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/ameldKOJf7B8oNk
