You may have noticed that when the coffee started brewing, at first the liquid coming out of the basket was almost clear-not good. To remedy this, allow the coffee to brew for about 30 seconds WITHOUT the carafe in place-no longer so it doesn’t overflow. Then quickly replace the carafe and allow the brew cycle to complete. Your coffee will taste MUCH better and full of aroma. Unless, of course, you prefer weak coffee. ☕

What do you mean by “let brew without the caraf”? I don’t understand, where will the water go? Or will it simple not come out if the caraf is not in place?

@@roqueadeleon The holder for the coffee grounds/filter will contain a small amount of water before overflowing or shutting off. As I mentioned, only allow 30 seconds or so for the coffee to start brewing WITHOUT the carafe in place to allow for more saturation of the coffee grounds. Then insert the carafe into its proper position on the hot plate/warmer. Clear?

I have had many brew coffee makers over the past 50 years, this is the first one that I had to watch a video! NO WHERE on the package/box does it tell that you need paper filters! If it had I would have ordered some at the same time and would be able to have a nice cupa today! Shame on Mr. Coffee for not provided 4-5 filters or at least stating that on the box! And I agree with the video maker, the instructions were useless! THANKS for confirming that it needed a filter.

Thank you for this short but good info. The box says "Grab a cup" auto pause, but doesn't say how to pause it. When I picked up the carafe, it kept dripping. I agree, Terrible directions from manufacturer. I went on line as it says to do in order to print a manual, but this 5 cup Mini brew programmable was not listed BVMC-PCO5Blk-NP. UGH. Can you help with this?

When the coffee is done with the brew now do I click the green button or wait for it to turn off automatically? The light on the brew now stays on for a while. Love the video thank you!

Can't beat Mr coffee. Mine leaked out of the bottom over time. I probably needed to vinegarize it again. Oh well. Got me a Walmart GE 5 cup coffee maker at Goodwill for $6! Love it. Nice to hear a voice!!

My green Brew Now light stays on after the coffee is done brewing. How do you get the green light to turn off without unplugging it?

The brew now button is like an on/off button. It will brew the coffee once selected and will keep it warm for up to 2 hours.

I gave up on Mr. Coffee. DO NOT BUY THIS MAKER. I had 1 Mr Coffee for 12 years. After that one died I have used other brands. 2019 I bought this pot. It died on me just under the warranty. Mr. Coffee replaced it. Replacement pot lasted 2 years. My father-in-law liked how it made good tasting, hot coffee and bought the same model during this time. He passed in ‘22 and I got the pot. Later that year my coffee maker died. Used his pot till it died in ‘23. Bought another and it lasted 16 months and quit this year. Makes good tasting coffee(many pots don’t), that is hot, quickly but very poor build quality. Joe DiMaggio would not be proud of this product.

I just bought a programmable Cuisinart 14 cup coffeemaker - what a mistake. Setting it needs a rocket scientist. Why the heck are most of the coffee makers programmable? I miss the basic drip coffee maker - actually, my favorite is the electric percolator. They're all DEFECTIVE - arriving from a far-away country.

I'd would say the coffee makers with the cone style filter baskets and wider shower heads produce a better cup over the brands/models that don't sport that design. The Krups digital coffee maker I just posted is a good example of that over the Mr. Coffee model you see in this vid.

I must not have read the part about using a filter. I tried it without one and it had problems of dripping into the pot and actually filled up where I put the grounds and overflowed. I'm sure the filter will make all the difference.

thank you so much i finally can make coffee without paying for countles exspensive machine that look good hopefully this will hold out i had a kurig to leak all over the ninja lasted but counter spACE GORT LOWERED SO IT NO LONGER FIT AND THE HEATING ELEMENT WAS ON ITS LAST LEG THIS FIT PERFECTLY i run water in it to clean before use love it so far Thanks again. And priced at a good point considering not payining even 30.00 bucks. I'm totally done with the big brand names.

Im on my second unit. The first one got glitched out because i got it wet. Yea those buttons in front are meant to break the first time you spill coffee on em or wash it. So, i taped mine the second time. This 2nd unit has lasted me 4 years instead of 3 months. LOL 😂

Hi, I'd recommend making sure the plastic thing that holds the coffee grounds is positioned correctly inside the karafe or it may make it difficult to close the lid. I have this coffeenaker
