Heyyy friend!! It’s been forever, hence me commenting. Your channel is soaring 🙌🏾 I’m so happy you reviewed this. I actually liked the movie. I honestly wish it would’ve gone darker. It would’ve even benefitted being a limited series, IMO. What are your thoughts regarding me saying that?

JB!!! What's going on, compadre? You know you're missed in these KZbin streets! I really appreciate your support. I agree that it could have gone a lot darker. Like, let's take it all the way there! I would have really enjoyed this as a limited series as well. Honestly, I think it would have given the story and characters a chance to breathe and be fleshed out a lot more. Points were made! 👌👌👌

I got Mr. Crocket's motivation but he went way extreme. Like sir you know there are legal ways to do this.
@DMovieman3 ай бұрын
Yeah, I loved the general theme of Crocket wanting to rescue children and punish terrible parents. But when the real life "rescue" involves kidnapping and abduction, you've definitely gone too far. 😓😓😓

Listen! In any other circumstance, I would have all the grace in the world. But tearing up something that belonged to a loved one that passed on? That's a different level for trifling for me. Mr. Crocket would have ended up with his forever child ASAP! 😑😑😑

I'm afraid my parents' no-spanking rule would have dissolved -ashes-to ashes, dust to dust style-, if ever I behaved like Major. Poked-out lips, mild sulking and under-breath mumbling got stares of death.

LISTEN. There are boundaries and limits to one's patience when it comes to parenting. I'm not an advocate for violence AT ALL, but destroying something that belonged to a loved one that's passed on? LAWD, that will 100% take things to another level. 😑😑😑

I agree that Mr. Crocket was THEE best part of the movie and that the movie got real wobbly towards the end. When the kids became attack dogs, I was like, “Oh, so y’all doing anything now.” There’s a weird gap in the movie in that they used a children’s medium for this but didn’t really care about the childrens’ storylines (Major’s grief, the home conditions, Anthony)? And yes, Major suuuucks, lol.
@DMovieman3 ай бұрын
"Oh, so y'all doing anything now," had me HOLLERING! But it's true. The writers were definitely throwing anything at the wall and trying to make it stick at that point. 😵💫😵💫😵💫 The second piece is also very true. All the emotional depth and nuance we needed to understand the children fully was missing, which was so off-putting. Major should have been portrayed as a confused and grieving child, rather than some obnoxious and nightmarish brat. 🙃🙃🙃

@@DMovieman Agreed about Major! Now I’m wondering if they meant to portray him as a parent’s worst nightmare in addition to Mr. Crocket, lol.
@tiffersbel3 ай бұрын
I don’t know. For some reason, the way they framed major, I slightly thought maybe he could’ve been on the spectrum? Especially with how he acted at the funeral and seemed hyper focused on certain things and bad at interacting with people. The movie kind of made it seem as if his father was the one who calmed him down and everything since you saw a picture of him and his dad together but now him and his mom. But also, if that was the case, they did a bad job of it.
@DMovieman3 ай бұрын
I actually would have appreciated if that was the direction they were going. If anything, it could have added another layer by showing Summer dealing with a child who's behavior she didn't fully understand compared to his dad. But like you said, if that was the direction, it was quite poorly handled. Such a wasted opportunity.
@saloz94833 ай бұрын
I kind of thought he was on the spectrum as well but they handled it horribly. If the movie doesn't explain and develop this well all your left with is a kid you wanna put through a wall.

These damn kids in these movies keep earnin' ass whoopins! 😅 But I completely agree with you about loosing that emotional thread by the time we get into the third act. The storyline was a bit wobbly but there was a lot about this movie that I loved. Let's see what they'll do with the (unannounced) sequel, I guess!✨

I'm hollering, because we were JUST talking about this on your last review. Right! I was surprised by the emotional piece of the story, but I appreciated it.
