what is the byproduct of the burning propane? Is there any CO2 being released?
@BooneDownSouth4 жыл бұрын
Mark - I am not an expert on this however, CO is what is dangerous, not CO2. You could argue long term effects of CO2 but in general we are breathing CO2 everyday. CO is what is dangerous. My understanding is that CO2 is generated when burning propane unless there is not enough oxygen in the area to form the CO2 molecule in which case CO is what will be produced. That is why you want to have plenty of ventilation where you are running this and I would also have a carbon monoxide detector if you are in more of a confined environment.

Indicates on box independent heat settings. Have you found a way to do this without a complete shut down? Can you just turn off one burner only while it is running?
@BooneDownSouth3 жыл бұрын
@Gregory Page - Sorry for the delay getting back to you. So I don't see how you would be able to do that on mine. I can see how you only have one lit, but not have both lit and turn one off. I don't think mine has independent heat settings.

Any idea how long a 20 pound tank would last ?? just got a dyno glo convection heater I think I'm going to exchange for this top heater.the dyno glo looks great but may be too much and burn thru too much gas too quickly for what I need.

Same as other posters have mentioned. I appreciate the video. The unit is not really labelled well and the instructions are a bit confusing. Plus the instructions with mine came rolled up like a tube so I had to flatten it out with some weights for a couple of days. Lol.

can the heaters be angled to point straight up?
@BooneDownSouthАй бұрын
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. They are attached on a bracket that mounts to the tank so they can't point straight up unless you make some other type of bracket. They don't rotate.

Is this REALLY OK for indoor use? (Inside your barn/garage?)
@BooneDownSouth4 жыл бұрын
Scott - that depends on the circumstances. I use mine in my barn all through the winter. I also have a carbon monoxide detector in there as well. My barn is not super insulated either. To this point the carbon monoxide detector has never alarmed and I have never gotten sleepy working out there. Not to say that will work in all situations and you probably need to limit your exposure time indoors. I have seen this topic argued back and forth on several forums and made the decision that I will use it under the circumstances I have laid out above. As far as burning things down, you just need to use common sense and keep the burners away from things. Usually when I am using it I am the only one in there or maybe a helper so it's not like I have little kids running around in there - which would definitely not be safe!

@@BooneDownSouth I just got the heater and thought I would use it in my garage but after reading your response I think I should go a different route for my situation. Thanks for your honest response!

Do u think itssafe as a little buddy heater. I bought this because my little buddy can't heat this place up.
@BooneDownSouth2 жыл бұрын
So I have a buddy heater too. From a safety standpoint, I would think you still have the same CO issue to be concerned with, however, this heater puts WAAAY more heat out than a buddy heater without question so its a lot hotter and a bigger area to get burned with it if you bump it. My buddy heater would not make a difference in my barn that is why I bought this and it works great heating up my barn.
@Schnippen_Schnappen12 жыл бұрын
Isn’t this bad for indoor use? Co2 ??
@BooneDownSouth2 жыл бұрын
I would be very careful with fully enclosed indoor use. When I run it in my barn/workshop, the door is cracked open, and I have a CO detector running as well.
@LosSabinos4 жыл бұрын
Is this safe for use indoors ? or just outdoor use !?
@BooneDownSouth4 жыл бұрын
I use it indoors in a well ventilated barn. As long as there is plenty of air flow you should be alright. If you are in a closed in confined area you run the risk of carbon monoxide. Anytime I run it indoors I have a carbon monoxide detector as well.

I have one (XtrempowerUS Tank Top Propane Heater CSA Dual Burner) and it doesn't stay lit. It produces heat and turns red but the second I lift my finger off, it turns off. I think it could be the sensor, any suggestions?
@BooneDownSouth4 жыл бұрын
@John Budzinski - The only thing I know about these types of heaters is that you have to hold that finger on there for at least 20-30 seconds to get everything warmed up and then slowly start to take your finger off. I had one years ago that was finicky but this one is not. You really need to keep your finger on there until things get good and orange before you pull it off. If you are already doing that I am not sure what the problem could be.
