You can use propane indoors just as long as you have ventilation and/or use in large areas of home. Propane is the cleanest fuel to burn indoor just like natural gas, but just like anything that burns it needs air so using a heater like this in a small room one should crack a window at minimum.

Thank you for the review. I'm considering it for outdoor use...as in watching soccer practice and games.

Thanks for the review. To light mine I use a long stemmed utility (fire place) lighter. Be sure to light the screen mesh on the side only. I held the red button in for 28 seconds which worked beautifully. Also, if you place the tank with the valve connection toward you and mount the heater as far to the left as possible, the gas hose is pretty well positioned and the valve faces the top. It was hard to tell on this video what the difference between high to low was but, there is a definite drop in redness at the burner as you switch down. I like mine very much, which I bought because I have an apartment above me and the renter's brought bed bugs in. The house is very old and it's impossible to deal with them other than high heat. It's much safer to use indoors (in my case), because I have 10 foot ceilings. I place the heater so that there is nothing combustible within 4 feet on all sides and stand it on a sheet of 3'x4' concrete board. If anyone wants to try this remember to remove all combustible liquids from the heated area, IE: nail polish remover, varnish, turpentine etc... Also, turn off any gas valves and open up all cabinet doors and drawers. DO NOT STAY in the room but be sure and place the unit where you can see it from an outside window. About every 10 minutes enter the room and feel the furniture to make sure you can leave your hand on it without feeling like you're getting burned. If you can't leave your hand on any surface, abort the treatment and turn the heater off at the main (tank) valve. Probably not a good idea to use it in a shop with sawdust or other combustible dust floating in the air.

I bought this four years ago and I use it in my garage when I drinking beer with my Buddy's and work on cars and it works great ( in Midwinter when its 20 below zero ) I recommended it, the garage gets so hot in its lowest setting that I'm just sitting there in a T-shirt drinking beer with my buddies I bought it at Menards on sale for $79.99

Mount the burner a bit to the side; I.e. - not directly behind the outlet. (much easier on a one 'hand-hole' tank) and you will find that the hose will lead more fairly and you will be able to mount the valve right-side up.

could I use a force heater in my fully insulated 3 car garage about 630 sq ft with 8 ft ceilimgs for Christmas? I have a pool table in there and we will probably be playing pool during Christmas. I have some gaps around garage doors and also a 3 to 4 gap under door that goes to yard. So I don't know if this will be enough ventilation? I know force heaters are loud but we will have the music playing:) eventually I will get probably a Mr cool 18000 btu minisplit system to heat and cool garage. I also have a gym in there. I live in Clovis ca with a zone 9b I think

Thanks for the review! I have a Mr. Heater Big Buddy and I'm looking for something that kicks out more heat and is less bulky to pack. Also, if you don't care about using 1 lbs. propane bottles, this heater is probably the better way to go. You also have to buy the hose, fuel filter, and 4 D-cell batteries for the Big Buddy, so this is certainly the cheaper way to go!

Where can I buy a thermal coupling for the heater just in case it goes out on me in the future I'll have it ready
@barbier.family3 жыл бұрын
I had one of these but sent it back. Not sure how people can use these indoors. Ran mine for about 10 minutes and my eyes were watering from the fumes - Mr Heater makes much better options for indoor use.

You might like to move the attachment to one side or other of the tank's guard to release hose pressure before screwing in the gas line. I do this on my three globe heater. It does not have to be attached in the middle or straight across from gas outlet. (I found this out through experience) Does the box or other included info give us a clue to as to how long the 20lb tank will last on each setting?? I am thinking of getting one and would really like to know. (Please note that most tanks are only filled to 15lb unless you go some place that refills them and will put over 15lb in. Check the label) Thanks much. Good review.

I had a propane heater on top of the tank and I had some kind of leak in the valve ,and guess what ,it started the tank on fire . Kinda freaked me out , didn't explode but I'd prefer to keep tank as far away as possible. Even five feet would be better than sitting in top. I've read that propane has a low co2 and burns clean you can google that .
@displayfireworks20084 жыл бұрын
Thank is so weird you mentioned that because today I used this to work on my car and it started to make noise , get really hot and smell like it was burning.

Looks good. Yeah that should get the garage heated up in a hurry. I've got a 40,000 BTU kerosene torpedo heater that does. Of course it sounds like a jet engine and atomizes some fuel in the air. That's not good for you at all. Only problem with this one is it may deplete the oxygen. That would probably take awhile though and I open the door every now then for a few puffs off a cig.
@jameskoralewski10063 жыл бұрын
What happens if you get a gas leak at the tank and it works it way up to the burner? EXPLOSION CITY! The propane tank is too close to the burner in this configuration. They need to be separated by a hose of some length!

Trust me... these types of heaters... BURN PROPANE LIKE CRAZY.... they are not at all FUEL EFFICIENT... (but they are hot and they do provide heat fast) For many purposes you are better off with a "blue flame" ventless lp gas heat, especially one with a THERMOSTAT built in-- and one that also has a continuously lit PILOT...

I bought one and having to asseble the mounting bracket, SUCKS. They were not included or I lost the screws when I opened the box and then I cursed the engineer for not making a one piece bracket in the first place. I have half a mind to return mine and buy a different brand. Until they fix this stupid design flaw, I urge others to avoid this product.
