like most things in this show, it's a complex situation. yes, the guy was a dickhead to do what he did. yes, he was a particular dickhead to act like a pompous douche when ray reasonably asked for it back. did he deserve to get thrown through a plate glass door over it? should ray have done it, knowing the consequences? should he have taken the high road and bought her some cute unicorn thing instead of choosing the most destructive response possible? in the end some pompous douche knows to be less pompous in the future. but at what cost? what cost to his family, who did nothing wrong, what cost to ray, his girlfriend etc? i think even ray in the end learned that this life of violence that he led in the name of respect wasn't the right way to live, as it brought him little to no happiness and was a net negative to society.

@@mohammadalirashed3103 While avoidance is ideal in the wider scheme of things, it doesn't work practically in a situation where someone is actually being an asshole. Instead, it ends up leaving them unchallenged and "right", which is what lets them feel comfortable enough to continue in their shitty behavior. There are ways of not letting assholes get away with it which don't involve throwing them through a glass window, to me, the key is to make them feel self-conscious and small by emphasizing how ridiculous and pathetic they are. Even if they're such dick-heads that they don't actually care in terms of values/basic decency, they probably *will* care about collective approval and how they come off to others. I (perhaps naively) sincerely believe that the vast, vast majority of folks are decent and are generally on the same page values wise and want to "do the right thing", but they're generally too polite or shy to act on it. Someone else breaking the ice can help heaps.

The rules were that you could pick a prize and then you could steal/trade for a prize that anyone had already picked. I know, really stupid game. A little boy got bingo and went up there and grabbed that fish. He was over the moon thrilled. Funny, 'cuz I hated that thing. A grown man later took that fish from that little boy. The boy started crying, and the man did not bring it back. The next grown man to claim bingo went and took the fish from the idiot. Then he gave it back to the boy. Good thing too, 'cuz all the windows were on the second floor and the idiot might not have survived the fall.
