We have a 2020 Highlander Hybrid AWD model LE (base model) with over 27,000 miles on the odometer. Gas MPG is great for a large SUV AWD. Mid to high 30's MPG in winter and high 30's to low 40's mpg in summer. Also we are able to tow our 3,300 lb travel trailer as well. Pay back on the hybrid does not take long in fuel savings also your resale value will be much higher its a win win on both fronts.

Have you noticed resale value increasing at all? I haven't been tracking it very carefully but curious to hear people's real world experiences. I've been telling a lot of folks to buy something in a hybrid these days for that exact reason.

I've had a "three strikes, you're out" rule for considering a vehicle. One will always be "Can I use all items in the vehicle while wearing gloves?" Thanks Justin, great review.

Very practical review, special focus on noise levels is brilliant and I found it very useful. Thanks bro

I have often commented about using controls with gloves on, and never a reply. You are the only reviewer who does that.That Tucson for one would be impossible to navigate. Justin the next time you get into a Tucson can you show these people what a piano black console is like when you don’t live in a sunny climate with your gloves on. And hopefully it will make it out West. Great review once again. Cheers from NZ

Thaks Mark, will continue with the glove testing and general annoyance with piano gloss! Cheers from Sudbury!

Drove to the city yesterday 6.54 /100 in our 2022 Highlander. 4000 km on the vehicle and very impressed so far, but hey its a TOYOTA!

Amazing suv. I have a 21 limited hybrid with 27k km and it gets me 15-16 km/L mixed even when I'm driving a bit aggressively. However, the stock Goodyear eagle Touring tires that come on the limited are underwhelming in the rain and snow.

Great informative video with a good choice of a hybrid SUV for most Canadians! Ghost needs more treats for the work he does….

53k sounds like a deal. Have you seen the 2023 upgrades? I think the updated tech is worth the wait. Or I wait for 2024 grand highlander
@JustinPritchard2 жыл бұрын
Hey-- yes, I've seen the updates-- they came out JUST after I released this video. Absolutely wait-- the updated infotainment system this is getting is an absolute game-changer. (You can see it in the Tundra video uploaded elsewhere on this page) Cheers Justin

I have a Highlander Hybrid. Mine makes pew pew pew sounds when it starts and when it’s put into park. Is there anyway to get rid of the sound?

Why is the engine so loud??
@stanthomas98902 жыл бұрын
It isn't, we got a 23 bronze edition last month to replace our 2019 XLE V6...............and trust me it's quieter than the 19 V6
@gotopless97012 жыл бұрын
Do the upper trim models have thicker glass to help with noise?.
@Bart-dg6qv2 жыл бұрын
I don't know - my kids claim it's quiet but for me it's nothing special. Just normal noise.
@raahimsiraj17132 жыл бұрын
It does have dual pane front windows and a laminated front windshield to reduce noise.

I have a 2021 limited hybrid highlander and noise is fine I can hear it not much but the engine I can hear when going up a hill.
@vitusbering64532 жыл бұрын
On highway, hybrid is nosier than traditional 3.6l; being accelerated it sounds like dying coyote (actually, never heard one). Nevertheless, if you don't care about under power, this vehicle will be good. I'll wait for PHEV Highlander.

My two months old 2022 platinum hybrid highlander is making noise when I put on my reverse gear, it sounds like airplane engine, not very loud, but loud enough to hear with my windows closed, is that normal??
@redhulkultra1552 жыл бұрын
Yes it's too alert blind ppl or ppl in general since hybrids are quiet it's a law telsa will have to do the same as well

1. The engine is damn LOUD! 2. Front seats too short. Poor support for your thighs. 3. Not for shorter people. The driver seat does not adjust high enough. At some point the front no longer travels up. Only the back of the seat does. That tilts the seat forward. 4. The visor does not offer enough protection from the sun. Too short or bad placement. Traveling west at evening is a nightmare. 5. No distance detectors in the bumpers for parking. There will be no beeping before you hit something. Or run over your dog. 6. No heated steering wheel in the XLE for the US market. A real bummer. 7. The height of cargo area is markedly smaller than in the RAV4. 8. The cargo floor is not horizontal. It slides down towards the tail door. So does your cargo.
