3T MRI scan rooms contain a superconducting magnet that measure up to 60,000 times the magnetic strength of the earth. As a result of the high magnetic environment, the camera is having a hard time keeping in focus. Can you bring a phone into an MRI room? It is definitely not recommended.

Those chuffing sounds is actually the helium pumps that keeps the magnetic fields strong. It's continuous and it's like the lungs of the Machine.. Just like the lungs of your body.

Is it a phone camera? what model? I would def not bring my new phone near a mri, a Pixel 6 pro one of its cameras the telephotos one actually rattles around in its case (be design most believe) could only imagine what would happen if you take it near a mri.

Thank you for the suggestion! I’m sure manual focus would work a little better up until the 200 gauss line. This camera only had digital focus

​@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer Hi there! If there is focus on a camera, It will use a coil and a magnet to focus (also called a motor), The MRI has a strong magnetic field so the magnets on the lens are getting pulled toward the MRI, The coils on the camera is simply too weak to keep it in focus.

@@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer still wont work. the magnetic field has no effect on the phase detect pixels that determine focus. it only affects the motor that provides focus. Manual Focus replaces the phase detecting pixels in favour of our eyes. So get a lens such as a canon class ii lens with a mechanical manual focus to have any luck
