Or real jazz would be good. Like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Oscar Peterson. Or if she likes singer songwriters; Jason Isbell, James Taylor, Tom Waits. Hell, even John Mayer. Smooth jazz is the McDonald’s of music. But I like this song because I heard it a lot as a kid, oddly enough.

It is relative. I like Mangione and Maynard Ferguson. But people like the music they grew up with. 69's Supremes or The Who. 70's Elton John or Spinners. 80's Phil Collins or Luther Vandross. Not sure when, but think in the late 80's when this song came out. I was just out of the Navy, and wanted to impress my dad. He was a Jazz pianist and his father was a (so called), Big Band player. Jimmy Lord, prior to 1936. I wanted to play the Sax, but couldn't carry a tune. Then even my dad died, left me with wanting. Finding this video may make me dream again. Gonna dust off the credit card and spit into a brass tube. Life-R-Good.

I bought her album years ago without even listening to her before I bought the album it was great the only problem I had was a jealous wife that. I was only buying the album because of her on the album years have gone by and all my music was stolen and then one day I hear this playing on a video not knowing him like that sounds familiar and then I'm like a hit me like a train I remembered I bought the album many many years ago.
