"That crowd is so big!" 175,000 in both London and Philadelphia, plus millions more on television (this concert was broadcast live). And Freddie Mercury -- the greatest front man in the history of music -- held them all in the palm of his hand. I have to admit, watching this makes me cry. He died so freaking young. So freaking young. There was so much more music he could have given us.

There wasn’t a concert Queen ever did where Freddie didn’t have the entire audience firmly in his grasp!!! FYI: Live Aid was put together to raise money to feed the starving children in Ethiopia, Africa (originally).Their goal was to raise $1 Million. Queen almost didn’t get a slot to perform for Live Aid. After Queen hit the stage, they played for like 15-20 minutes and by the time they walked off the stage, the dollar goal had been met and surpassed. The other groups were super pissed because Queen went out on that stage and really put on a great show. The rest were still trying to figure out how they were going to top Queen’s performance. There really was no topping their performance!!! Love Aid was a multi day, multi nation benefit to help feed hungry kids. It was amazing. I remember watching it on the “CCTV” channel when I was in School. Amazing artists!!! U2 was there and when you look at Bono, he looks so young during that concert!!!! Love Aid had so many awesome groups and artists performing. The stadium Queen performed in held 72K people and every person in that stadium was participating in the “interaction” with the music. Freddie Mercury was a Master Performer!!! He was LEGIT!!!

@Krissy R Hopefully they will not make a follow up. Thank God fans old and new have made the case clear that the magnificence of Freddie was not included in the current record breaking money maker - and the possibility of it being another financial success is minimal and what they are doing now would be included and the least I could see of that the better.
@marvalstith27494 жыл бұрын
@Krissy R I agree. I have realized many obvious truths about the personal dynamics within Queen once those intelligent (3 of them scientists) musicians knew what was around the corner for them. Good for Queen, Freddie was intent on completing as much of what was on the drawing board for Queen while able. And, how absolutely wonderful that Freddie met Montserrat and he had that experience and Barcelona to cherish. Selfishly so I won't be subjected to seeing or reading embellished negative innuendo and salacious stories regarding Freddie Mercury, I fervently hope No New Movie.

Re: Freddie's fashion - In the late 70's into the 80's, the style of many gay men in San Francisco is referred to as the "Castro Clone" (Castro street being the gay center of San Francisco). The moustache was part of it. The wifebeater shirt wasn't necessarily a Castro Clone shirt, but it could be, and it was very common in drawings from popular gay artist Tom of Finland (look up his stuff, most of it is very sexualized, but usually isn't x-rated), when you see Tom of Finland men, you'll immediately recognize the look from Freddie Mercury. I bring up Castro Clone because if you see older Queen Videos like Bohemian Rhapsody, you'll notice Freddie had a more "glam" look and no facial hair, but he made a big style change with the shorter hair, moustache, and tight clothing. If you ever get into metal band Judas Priest (whose singer Rob Halford is also gay), you might notice that their early work in the late 70's, he had long hair and looked like a rock star, but then cut his hair short and started wearing a lot of leather and S&M gear on stage. Rob stayed clean shaven at the time, but his look is similar to the Tom of Finland guys as well.

Live aid was a concert to provide famine relief in Africa. There were almost 90k people at wembly stadium in London. Huge crowds at a stadium in the US and more than one BILLION people watching around the world. Each act got twenty minutes to do their set. Queen rehearsed their songs bohemian rhapsody , radio GaGa , eay ohh ( Freddie playing with his audience) , Hammer to Fall ( the big hit from their album out then) , Crazy Little Thing Called Love ( Freddie’s tribute to Elvis) , and their two anthems We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. Their set raised the energy level at Wembly and around the world and raised tons of money. Queen consisted of , Freddie Mercury , frontman and piano/keyboards and guitar Brian May, lead guitar and , actually Dr. May as he has his doctorate in astrophysics I believe. Roger Taylor Drums and percussion also Roger has the most beautiful singing voice. John Deacon bassist who quit after Freddie’s death. The band tours today as Queen+ AdamLambert and fills stadiums and arenas across the world. In October they are releasing the first album(?) since the early nineties called Queen+ Adam Lambert live around the world. It’s gonna be EPIC❣️❣️❣️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Then range Freddie Murcury "Exercises in free love" it was while he was working with opera star monsterrat Caballe (who he also sang at the 1992 olympic games with ) Caballe ( sounds like A at the end ) heard this song and added to it and it became " Ensueno " that will show you the 4/5 octaves he was working with . I was at LIVE AID and defo think you should show the whole bit they did but what many miss is they came back out again and did another song ;later .
