Your original Ecco review is what led me to your channel in the first place and I've been watching ever since. Ecco: Tides of Time is quite possibly my favorite game of all time. Beat it on normal mode when I was a young teenager but didn't have the balls to attempt to beat it on hard mode until last year (at age 33). It was excruciating but I did it. Thank you for paying tribute to these awesome games. Wish there was some way Ed Annunziata could complete his original trilogy.

I didn't know it until further research, but the "Secret Password" was intended to be used in the third Ecco the dolphin game, which sadly never came to fruition due to what's speculated to be a potential licensing issue between Sega and the creators of the Ecco the Dolphin series...

As a small kid, I played Ecco Jr. I recently pulled out me Genesis again and bought this game at a local game store... my kids and I were so confused as to how to even get into the game so I looked up videos on KZbin and found this gold right here. Laughing so hard I'm crying... and my kids turned off the game and are playing The Lion King instead... still watching this. 😂

That's correct. It would have been interesting to see how they would have incorporated the "secret password" into Ecco 3, because it doesn't contain a much useful info. Basically just how long it took you to finish the game and the difficulty level (EPUDWNAA = about 3 hours of play time, forced hard mode).

You can beat the game on any difficulty setting, and you'll get that secret password. That password was meant for the 3rd Ecco game for Genesis. However, it got scrapped. That's why TOT ends on a cliff hanger. Trust me, the first Ecco is more difficult.

I got really far in Ecco the dolphin as a kid, but the last alien head boss scared me too much.. Ecco: Tides of time looks nice! It is part of the Megadrive Collection on PS3, but not on the Megadrive Mini or the PS4 collection..

Currently playing through this game now, just got to The Vortex Queen, further than I ever got as a kid. Love the game mostly but some of the later levels are incredibly annoying. Platforming as a dolphin jumping from water tube to water tube is just, frustrating lol
