I'm still doing research on the mode, I've learned several things and managed to map missions to buttons properly. I also filled in some of the missing text, though some things don't work quite right yet. Oh wow, this is just the sort of thing that could make a Mario Kart Wii mod so much more unique and make me check one besides custom tracks (and where that online-only ring level would fit). I'd really love to try and see what they programmed for these modes, even if the objectives are gone I'd be fine with a retread of Mario Kart DS ones. Did you fix the buggy dark text palette or the weird texture stretching on those buttons?

WiiLord95 something nintendo could do is disguise a file, like changing the file extension so it is unreadable unless it is put back to the right file, like renaming a .txt to a .png file. It wont appear in a photo viewer but if you change it back to txt it works in a text viewer. Im not being specific with app names because there's lots of them.

Oh my god this is one of the things I've been praying for in MKWii since the beginning of CTGP :D I would love for Grand Prix mode to be replaced by this using the online competitions from the MKWii Channel, as well as custom-made ones. Maybe there could even be leaderboards for them on the CTGPR Channel? HYPE :D

All right, here goes: this might not be possible to do at all, but if it is indeed possible to add content with specific unused values so that you can rewire these buttons and create a single-player mission mode, replaceable by battle mode in CTGP-R options? You would have these buttons in the game, but add text to it, create szs files for missions, and wire up those buttons to go to that image. It sounds far-fetched, but if this IS possible we could have something interesting for a future update. Just a thought.

interesting, i just got ctgp and i kinda wanna see missions, but then again there's already custom tracks and these missions just sound like another custom track to add to ctgp because of designs and stuff if it can work. so if this does work it probably wouldn't be added anywhere and would just be a gecko code :/

Good point, but honestly the miniturbo mission could bring karts into the scene, and I don't think a custom track has been able to do that. There are more examples I could give.

I played the stage with the topman. You had to download a Wii channel and you played with other players in a tournament. The stage was called Galaxy Arena

I looked in the american mkwii's files inside the Race folder theres a empty folder called MissionRun, if it is possible to move the galaxy colosseum course into the mission folder and maybe rework the code so the course can load?

I already did make Galaxy Colosseum load in those mode, but you don't need to move the track file. You just need to make a mission scenario for it, and I have confirmed it does work properly as well. I'll give more details once I've finished investigating the whole process.

Everytime i download mission mode, and go to the menus where the lost mode is under battle mode, i try to play a mission level, it always freezes and i don't get why, and when i download custom mission and try to play them on a pack using riivolution, mission mode doesn't show up and i don't get why that ones not working either, can one of you help me out here? please. and i also did try to create a new licence to access it too but barley any luck :(

In Mario Kart DS each Mission Level has a boss at the end of it. Considering they probably only got to around half way through the 2nd Mission Level, it seems quite likely that Topman was going to be the boss for the first Mission Level, and ended up being reused for Competitions. EDIT: Especially so, considering the file name of the track that plays in Galaxy Arena is named "n_BossMi_32".

Hey Bean, pause around 8:10 to 8:11 (took me a few attempts) it says "Score: The Con" (in a different font), assumed you put this in as an easter egg joke or something lol referring to the broken wheeling mechanics. If not, why is it there?

That is weird. But if I can use my little knowledge about writing mini-scripts (that i had to make my computer usage a little easier (sad to say it was always more time-consuming than normally executing the instructions and it almost never worked)), the disc is probably trying to load some data that was, along with many components of the lost "Mission Mode", deleted before release, so it either found some other data it thought was sufficient to use in place of the missing data (maybe it followed some certain params or was in a similar subfolder), or, because as mentioned in the video, it was counting the wheelies too fast, could have caused some kind of overflow (idfk) and let some data from other parts of the game flow in (as some others mentioned, "control", "battle", a golden wheel, and "communi" could be found as a score throughout the wheelie mission, as well as values higher than the required 47 to complete it). Worst case scenario the disc is crap and I shouldn't be playing it from time to time to keep my decent skillset for that game. ;(

When installing CTGP-R does the sd card have to be empty with only the Install Files. When I try to add the channel my whole wii freezes and the only way to turn it off is to cut power to it. Hope your reading this!

Nope, it shouldn't need that! Also, sometimes the add button can be a bit weird, but if you keep trying, it should eventually succeed.
