here's another awesome tip you might not know. You can actually capture some of the random criminals you come across and return them to the sheriff for a reward, just like with the bounty hunts. So next time you get ambushed by some filthy O'driscolls, leave one of them alive and take him in :)

That's why I love this game. Usually I am a bored gamer. I simply rush a game's story and I just finish it. Then I forget it. I even use cheats to make things easier with money and stuff. Wait until you are in the swamp area for a while, then start getting annoyed by the flies and want to swipe at them to get them away from you.. then realize it is in the game.. I've used 3 horses when hunting, you have your main horse, steal a horse and hitch it at the camp and it becomes your secondary horse. So leave the camp on the secondary horse and whistle for the main to follow, then steal a third horse and the main and secondary will follow you when you whistle.

Crafting split point bullets from regular bullets and firing them instead of other bullets is a great way to stretch your Dead Eye ring. Getting as much Dead Eye xp early on was probably the best thing I could have done in the long run. So take the time to do those chores in camp for Dead Eye xp, especially since doing chores in real life have been lacking. because of this game.

Fun fact: if you see 2 guys trying to open a safe, don’t kill them, hide until they eventually get it open, then kill them, then you can get cash without dynamite OR tomahawks

The Whistles, a few other tips if you short whistle while crouched, A. You whistle quieter and B. Your horse approaches slower & quieter. Also if you short whistle 3 times rapidly your horse will run to you at full speed. Also one other horse tip: Say you have more than 1 horse ride the one with better stats the follow horse no matter how weak the stats will keep up with you, won't get tired and won't get dirty or hungry

It happened to me as I was leaving Rhodes I overheard the sheriff administrating last words and the person who was being hung was a bounty I had picked up earlier in the game. Another tip you may not know: You can get perfect pelts from 3 star animals every time without using a gun or bow! (from medium sized animals like deer, sheep, goats etc) Simply lasso it, pull it in and tap the "kill" button. It is pretty gruesome but a guaranteed perfect skin. I also got $2.50 bounty for Animal Cruelty when the farmer spotted me. Lmao I still have to experiment with other animals to see how far this goes. @@ferchango6359 nope I did it because I left my game on overnight exploiting the glitch of the 20$ and so Arthur was picking up the money for 4 days (in-game) and when I was done which put my money at 554879$ I rode my horse to Saint Denis and on the way there Charles came looking for me and said "There you are. You're hard to spot, Dutch been worried about you. You havent been back to camp for awhile. You want to back to camp?" You then have a choice to hold square to return to camp with Charles or not. Oh and when I was doing that Arthur's core were all empty and red. So that is another way to know that you're sure to get that special event to trigger if you want to try it out

Here's an awesome tip/glitch to exploit: if you need to skin a certain amount of animals for a challenge, you can skin them yourself, then give the carcass to Pearson for him to skin it again. It counts as two for challenges, but Pearson doesn't get double the skins for crafting.

You don’t have to smoke the cigarettes, you can just drop them and pick up the new ones. If you are full on health and Dead eye, smoking them damages your health and takes a long time to do. You can just drop off the cigarettes and pick up new ones

Not sure about the loot, but it is quiet, and you can use it on safes, certain doors and cash registers... but if you get the Gold Bar in the burnt sherriff station southeast of first camp, pick it up and pause before the animation finishes, save then load, go back and it's still there

You can buy the lock breaker at ANY fence, not just in Saint Denis. You DON'T get more loot. Lastly you CAN'T open safes with it. Only locks, like on the back of stagecoaches, doors and a few other things. Once you have it purchased and you walk up to something locked you'll get the prompt to use the lock breaker. To open safes you need to use dynamite or explosive ammo. Though there is a "glitch/trick" that I'm guessing will be patched, you can through tomahawks at the safe to open them. (Only safes that are on the ground, not safes that are embedded in walls)

I've heard horses have trouble walking backwards irl. I remember being told that's why fire stations have the pole. They had problems with horses going upstairs and it being an ordeal to get them down, and when there's an emergency, that's a problem. Granted now we don't use horses anymore but tradition I guess.

I recently bouight game: Steam holiday sale 50% off, but speaking of backing up a horse, I was getting so pissed not being able to stop or back-up! So I found out the horse actually can back-up and ended up remapping the left-control i thiink, to the "D" on my keyboard, now a double tap will make the horse go backwards and just pressing it when going forward is like the brake. Or more accurately the "Whoa!" Makes it more like a car in GTA. Which I think is how it should be. I don't even remember what was the "D". Thank God for KZbin!

Another cool tip I found but haven't seen anywhere is if you like photo mode and taking nice shots for your dashboard you can turn off all the HUD and pause it to apply the faded high contrast black and white filter. If you get good enough (and it's easier than it sounds) you can time the un-pause to clear the menu while preserving the filter. You can also apply the filter using the camera in the same manner if you'd like to zoom or take selfies with the filter on. Different timing can even lead to slightly different degrees of the filter. For my background now I found a nice vista, aligned the camera in 3rd person wide, reared my horse up with the moon in the background and paused, un-paused, screen capped. L'art.

i love if you jump from a high place like any 2nd story and fall on top of your horse.... you actually land on your horse. I tested this from a preetty high jump and took no fall damage so I see alot of cool benefits from this
