Protip: Change the option in the settings to fish by holding the button to reel in, it makes fishing 1000X times easier, without that option I could only get arthur to slow reel fish, with press and holds he can pull in small fish from max distance in just a few seconds.

These won’t make you a better player, but they’re certainly neat features I’ve come across. 1) You can turn in criminals from white blip encounters at the Sheriffs Office for Honor and a small cash reward. For instance the encounter when a Stranger has bought a new Revolver and is showing off to his friend before accidentally shooting him in the face. You can lasso and hogtie him, and carry him to the Sheriffs Office where you will be prompted to put him in a Cell. (Currently testing with other encounters) 2) If you dress like a Sheriff your Gang will comment on it whilst you’re in Camp with comments like “Are you a Sheriff now?” Or “Your Lawman disguise isn’t very convincing.” (Tested in Chapter 2) 3) One of the unique hats you can discover is a Miner’s Helmet compete with a functioning lantern on the front. If you discover this and store it on your horse for easy access you’re perfectly equipped to explore those caves and dark places with your hands free to use whatever weapon/s you like without having to exploit or glitch.

Also! Free roaming in the game, u can literally dual ANYWHERE. U slowly push the R2 button (RT) and it will go into a dual stance where u get ur hand on ur weapon ready to draw. And when u do, it automatically activates deadeye.

One thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention is that, if you are hunting, and have a carcass on your horse, you shouldn’t sleep at your mobile camp. Since the in-world time keeps going when you sleep, you might wake up to a rotting carcass that you can’t sell.

You really don’t have to save exit and reload to get your horse from a long distance or falling from a cliff it’s faster and more efficient to open your portable camp and your horse will spawn next to you when it opens then just clean up camp and you have your horse. Saving and exiting and reloading that takes way too long vs the camp method.

Check that you have all the guns you want before getting off your horse in every mission. I beat the game and this is the most important thing you can do in my opinion. Way too often you go through a mission or even a town where your guns are automatically unequipped (not your sidearms, but your repeaters/rifles/shotguns) and then you'll start a new mission with nothing but your sidearms and end up in a huge firefight. This is one of a handful of things about this game that ruin what is otherwise a magical experience. It's why my GOTY is God of War and for me the original Red Dead Redemption was a better game.

Another detail I like besides those mentioned here is that you can also mount your horse when running up from behind. So you don't have to actually walk around to the side if you're behind the horse. I think this is something they kept from the first Red Dead if my memory is correct.

Another way to get your horse if it’s out of range or if you get stuck some where (like the little island where iguanas are at, I always loose the boat) if you set up camp to cook etc it will bring you back over to the area you left your horse . Example : I had left my horse hitched to a tree then took a canoe to the little island to get the iguanas. My boat disappeared, I tried every thing to keep it from drifting away, I had saved my game and decided to camp since it was night and was going to try and swim back to land when it was daylight. Soon as I clicked on the little camp thing it set my camp up back on shore where I had left my horse. So that cuts out having to reload your game. I didn’t know this would happen and was so glad it did because every time I have tried to save my game and reload it then I end up loosing all my pelts. So if you get stranded on the iguana island try setting up camp. I don’t know if this happened because I left my horse on shore but that’s how I will go to the iguana island for now on lol.

Extra tips Set up camp to have your horse teleport back to you Tap the aim down scope button to soft lock onto targets, then nudge right thumb stick up. This will get you quick back to back head shots without using deadeye

This ain't really a tip. But more like a weapon grab. If you go to "Watson's Cabin" in West Elizabeth, west of Wallace station some old lady will tell you to drop off the "goods" in the basement with the rest of the stuff. If you comply and go to the back of the house, you should be able to go downstairs and pick up the semi-auto shotgun for free. She'll start realizing you're not the usual people to drop off things, so she'll start yelling and threatening you. Just a heads up for new people coming to the game. Or players who are trying to collect weapons without spending money.

Another matter with Saint Denis: if you vault a railing with a plantpot hanging in it, you will stay on the plantpot. Turn around and you will be able to climb the roof above you. Keep in mind if there is another balcony above you or your balcony has no ceiling, this wont work.

Carrying rifle and lantern at the same time. I grabbed the miner's hat and carry it on my horse. Whenever I'm called to be in a cave or low-lit situation, I wear my miner's hat. It's a kick to wear on a night ride in the wilderness. The beam of light illuminates only a few yards out but it's surprisingly helpful.

Another tip?, you can use f next to your horse and it will run faster... before sending you away with a kick. f is the default key to enter a vehicle in gta. But for real, you can use your bow and arrow to get all perfect pelts, all you need is the correct type of arrow, small game for small animals, regular for deer and I think up to elk and improved for bisons, also as far as I know, you don't need the recipe, just the ingredients which are mainly flying feathers and other cartridges. Now you can also get cougars, panthers and bears with this, but the fact that you can doesn' mean you should.

I haven't tried it with a rifle, but you can have the lantern out with the pistol without having to use the backdoor method mentioned in this video. This is how you do it, while having the lantern out bring up your weapon wheel and select a pistol (NOT dual pistols just one of them). When you do this Arthur will hold the pistol in his right hand and will either stow the light lantern on his belt or hold the light lantern in his other hand.

There is a long hair/beard glitch you may try. If you go to the Trapper in Saint Denis and look through the outfits, somehow you exit and have your beard and hair to full length. I had just gotten a haircut and shave last night and went over to the Trapper and was scrolling through the Legendary outfits he has to offer and when I left, my hair and beard had magically maxed out.

This is the best game ever made imo, the best part of this game is all the side missions and the easter eggs! I just found Cujo while walking in Saint-Denis, i literally yelled “Hey its Cujo!” Lolll He is all dirty and bloody, just like at the end of the movie....its so cool to find all those easter eggs everywhere in the game, and theres so many of them, its just crazy!

I was going to say the lantern thing is in the game by default, just equip lantern then pull out a pistol then your free to switch to whatever weapon you like and the latern is still hooked over your satchel. No glitch required.

In Annesburg, you have to go to the Gunsmith to find lodging and a bath. It took me a while to figure that one out, but it made things so much easier.

How about the miner's hat? you can find it in the mineshaft where you have to get a bounty. It has lamp in it and thus makes travelling at night more comfortable

I was once doing that collecting debt thing where you hunted for the white cougar. Yeah, so somehow, after I died, my lantern was stuck to my left hand while I was holding a rolling block. It looked very funny in first person. The lantern was all over the place

All you got to do to clean you character in rdr2 is go to your horse and got to horse weapons and go to horse and you will see outfit go to a outfit you are using or a different outfit then your character will be clean

I always kept Author with long hair and clean cut shave, quite the good look, even with pomade on. Kept it this way early on to the point i got use to so much i find it off when i see Morgan with a big beard
