Had some O'Driscolls ambush me in valentine chasing and shooting at me without cause. I ran into the sheriffs office for help where they valently tried to protect me but we're killed in cold blood. I had no choice but to open fire while taking cover behind an old desk killing three in what I believed to be self defense. I did not fire on them till the sherrifs were savagely gunned down. All I could think about at the time where their poor wives. Soon after A few more of the the town's sherrifs came in and arrested me for murder. A grave injustice. True story.

I've beat the game and play RDO. Here's some: -Hold OPTIONS button to go straight to MAP, Hold CIRCLE to back out entirely of menus. -Perfect/Pristine pelt requires correct gun (hold l2 looking at animal, study, to see pelt condition, gun required, dont shoot more than once preferably head/heart full dead eye lvl marks critical spots) -Hold L2 & R2 with Lasso to swing it in circles over your head -You can automount horse by jumping off cliff, house, etc from above -it's better to dead eye one guy at a time than wasting it moving recticle -Dont rob trains unless in tunnel, rob out side of towns wearing bandana, if robbing stores put on bandana before going in store kill clerk/customers leave (out backdoor) within 30 seconds after killing -Bandana doesn't hide identity from lawmen -early in game track camp members by getting item they request but don't give it to them -tap x in rhythm with gallop on horse to not lose horse stamina (doesn't work in RDO) UPDATED: -R1+X (tap) reverse wagon/horse - when dismounting which ever way you're holding left stick is the side of horse you'll get off on. -When going through rocky heavily wooded area, let go of left stick to let horse steer & dodge trees/rocks. prolly more have to think...

Now you use it mainly for hearing all certain characters camp dialogue, to find them quickly to see if they have new camp dialogue.

Bro, once you have an outfit you like, save it to your horse immediately. I think it's R3 to save. Make sure there is an empty slot for that outfit too, you're allowed a total of 5. And this can only be done at camp (I'm only in chapter 3). Now anytime you get blood on it, just go into your horse inventory, choose the custom outfit that you are already wearing and it will give you a clean version. Blood and dirt also washes off if you get in the water etc etc

Expanding on the carcass bait method, if you kill a small bird, you can leave the carcass there, and eventually a hawk or eagle will come to eat it. Keep that in mind if you need those feathers

Too bad it's too buggy online to be entertaining. Yeah the story is good but it's also long so it's difficult for the average player to do more than two or three times. Then with online as messed up as it is, and the prices almost necessitate buying gold with real money every once in a while, it just becomes more costly (time and money) than it's worth.

You forgot to mention the funniest part about antagonizing your gang members. After you wake up outside of camp, return and start antagonizing again. You'll get sucker punched again, but the next time you wake up, you'll be much further away. The third time, they'll leave you nearly across the entire map.

1.) When you’re hunting, look at the lower right corner to check and see what star the animal is. From there use the appropriate weapon once you find a 3 Star animal to get a perfect pelt. But you must land a headshot. If you shoot it and it’s still alive then it will drop a star. Do the legendary buck challenge ASAP to get the trinket cause you will get an item which increases the chance of you getting a perfect pelt even if it’s not a 3 star. You can try the lasso the animal but it’s not a guarantee 3 Star. 2.) For those of you who are curious as to how to manually target enemies with dead eye, you must complete a mission which will feature John Marston. This mission is available towards the end of chapter 2. No level of dead eye will give you the manual targeting system except the mission. 3.) Try to collect as many pelts as you can because they don’t stay permanent with Pearson, Trapper and Fencer when you craft something. However when you give something to Trapper, specifically legendary animal items, then they are interchange and stay permanent but regular animal pelts do not whenever you craft. 4.) High star animals are more available as you progress through the game unless you explore extensively then you will stumble upon them. If you don’t and you’re at the camp near Valentine you won’t find many high star animals you want to hunt. 5.) Fast travel is available through Arthur’s camp but once you upgrade Dutch’s wagon. This can only be done when you do Strauss’s side quest and a book called the “Ledger” will be available right next to the “contribute” box. You can only travel FROM Arthur’s camp and you cannot fast travel back. If you don’t want to concentrate your screen riding your horse, put it in cinematic and set a waypoint which will automatically guide your horse to its location so long as the run button is on. Sometimes if I’m pushing the run button for a while, and then put down my controller and go do something, my horse will still be running along the set path.. However if I try to do the same thing after just pressing the button for a few seconds, the horse will stop.. so much crazy shit in this game lol

The shotgun detail is actually extremely realistic. The part you forgot is that it increases accuracy with slugs. It increases spread with buckshot because it causes the wad to spin and makes the pellets fly outwards. Most modern shotguns have removable barrels, so you will have a regular smooth bore barrel and a rifled slug barrel.

The rifling spins the wad and throws the pellets further away from center this is just a fact that's been proven time and time again. There's videos on this very website explaining and proving it

Correction: glowing items like hats don't mean they're saved on your inventory. It means you can get them permanently on your inventory. Some NPCs will have glowing hats. If you pick them up, they will go to the "robbed hats" on your inventory. There are some glowing hats hidden around the world too. That means you can get them forever, as opposed to normal hats NPCs wear that you can only wear until you lose them or change outfits.

My tip: SAVE the game frequently! Especialy when you have a perfect pelt on your horse (for the satchels for instance) as you will loose them as you die, which of course can happen. Especially in the beginning of the game !

TIP: I don't know if you know this. I notice when you lasso an item you walk back to get it to the point where you want it to be... just so you know you can tap the RT or R2 to pull the rope or the item lassoed standing still or walking. The quicker you tap the quicker you pull. Thanks for the tips

Things I wish I knew when I first started: To break a wild horse, forget trying to move the L-stick left or right in time with the horse's bucking. Hold it DOWN. You'll break the horse in half the time and on the first try. You can use the general store to change clothes without buying. Just go into the changing room and find the article of clothing you already have & select it. Lawmen & bounty hunters have the best loot. When you kill a bunch, you might not have time to loot them because more will come immediately. Just run to the edge of the red search perimeter, hide, wait until the new lawmen give up searching, then go back and loot the bodies. Your hotel room will stay available for 24 in-game hours (or until you leave town). You can sleep, go have fun in town, and then return to sleep a second night. As long as you are back in the room before the 24 hours expires, it doesn't matter if your sleep goes beyond that time. Herbivore bait attracts and tames wild horses. It might have been just a glitch, but I put down some herbivore bait to attract some deer, but incidentally it was near a wild horse herd. Two of the horses approached it. When I tried to shoo them away, they didn't run. So I decided to hop on them, let them buck me off, hoping they would run away after. They didn't buck. They let me ride them. To lasso the bull, hold down L2. Took me hours to get pass the bull lassoing mission in the epilogue because I didn't know L2 keeps the rope on it.

Going in and out of Dead Eye automatically reloads the gun. Also, if you go in an out of Dead to fight battles, you'll save Dead Eye.

When I got the legendary bison fall in semi shallow water and couldn't skin it, I thought of using a laso, but it didn't work. So then I pushed it out by riding the horse onto it. Felt so glitchy and dumb, but it worked.

The reason the stages sometimes show as being closed, aside from you having a bounty, is because they move around between towns and are just not in that town at that time. Just like the trains.

"if your hat fell off in an area with a lot of items you'll easily be able to find it" you can never lose a saved hat, just re select it from your horse. I don't even bother going through the animation to pick up my hat if it gets knocked off. just equip it again once you get on your horse. same applies to guns.... if you are carrying your fave gun and it gives you the option to swap that gun for one you just found (special weapon or whatever) you do not lose the other gun. it will always be in your horse inventory even if you "drop" the gun. (just go back and re select it from your horse)

Hunting deer is all about stealth. I scout them from a distance using deadeye seeing their flash. I them use my binoculars to track them from horseback. Once within 200 meters, I dismount and stealth walk slowly through bushes and trees. I get as close as 20 meters then deadly to see the vitals and go for head or chest with improved arrows. Perfect pelts every time.

You can also lasso people off of caravans etc. if you killed them while in a drivers/passengers seat and you want to loot their body. side note: To elaborate on what you said about using a carcass to attract animals this works on predators only and it REALLY helps when you are looking for cougars/panthers because they can be really hard to find. Just pile two deer carcasses beside each other in a territory where they spawn and they will be attracted to it.

Some tips I can offer are. One: when committing a crime in saint denis or any store. Dont use a gun. Use a knife and quickly dispatch the store owner, it decreases the time you got before a NPC walks in as they are programmed to check the store owner, best thing you can do to avoid this. Is use a knife and suspect the witness and quickly stop anyone from coming in. And then getting rid of the body. Also dont chase anyone down if you are caught. It increases the chance that when you do that you become a known suspect which is worse and it is better to run away so you can rob else where. saint denis being a pretty good area for it. Lockdown is also a lot less likely to happen if you do which makes things easier and two: change outfits not just wear a mask. And once you're a known suspect. Theres no going back. Unless you don't return in later acts. Then you're a stranger again.

You forgot about item requests from camp mates. After giving them requied item that will leave on your table a gift every few days. Like Javier will give poisoned throwing knives, Charles fire arrows etc. It's good stock of free ammo. Also its better to restock ammo on your camp than going to pay in the gunsmith. It's much cheaper.

Iv noticed that if I rest and try to set up camp a lot of times it’ll tell me I can’t cuz of activity near by but if I go to my house and select the camp fire option the option wheel it lets me set up camp like every time

Something I noticed about the stagecoach stops: The stops are "open" if there is a stagecoach parked at them. I don't know how useful that is, since you can always use a stagecoach stop anyway, but I think it's neat.

I wish the walking to running was as smooth and fluid in Third person as it is in First person. When in First person, just moving up on your stick more makes him run faster. But in Third person, moving up on your stick does nothing. Your character still walks really slow no matter what until you mash a button. Then he goes from slow to fast immediately and is not smooth at all. So far, I'm liking the Fist person controls and shooting a lot better. Especially being able to look directly down your gun sight to shoot. Very Rewarding and more realistic! All you need to do this is mash down on your D pad one time and you will look down your sights every time.

I’ve watched most of your rdr2 vids and I haven’t seen anything about auto travel, did u know that if u set a waypoint anywhere on the map and if you start travelling along the red line for a few seconds then turn on cinematic mode , Arthur will ride to waypoints by himself

@@reddevil1540 Not necessarily. I was using this today and there was a tree that had fallen on the road. Instead of running or jumping around the tree trunk, the horse just ran into it and Arthur flew off. Just need to be a little careful to take over the driving while in cinematic view.

I figured out that lasso trick when my horse died falling off a bridge. I had to drag it's body to shore so I could get my saddle back. Cool note: When I went back there later, there was horse bones where my horse was. That's cool detail.

@Visual....yea...it's called a new detail they paid attention to in RDR2 that wasn't in RDR1. In 1, if you killed an animal, eventually the body will just despawn. But in RDR2, they actually added in a decaying feature that causes the bodies to slowly rot away as time passes over them just disappearing...making the game a little more immersive/realistic.

Yea, it's not really a spoiler. It's just an added little cut-scene that shows one of your gang members you are in good standings with bailing you out of jail. I haven't gotten the one where they blew a hole in the wall, but I have had one where Hosea stumbled into the jail with some bottles of alcohol and it is assumed he gave them as a bribe or got the lawmen drunk enough so you could get out early. I have also had one where Dutch bailed me out while pretending to be my Uncle/Grandfather (I think this one is actually part of a mission). So yea, do a lot of favors around your camp and try to stay in good standings with your gang and they are more likely to bail you out of jail for small crimes so you don't have to server your full sentence out.

you can get stuck in a store tough. i was running into the clothing shop, on the way bumping on someoje. the store was about to closing time, but when i start talking to the vendor, this angry pedestrian stormed in and start hitting me. the vendor panickily ran away during our fistfight and when i was finaly done with him, the store was locked because the vendor was gone, and i was trapped indoors all night long

@@adrianr5901 I've surrendered multiple times (5 or 6) and only once did Dutch break me out. I had a $300 bounty after a killing spree and walked to the sheriff and surrendered. Noone broke me out. Only cost me $50 ( all I had on me) instead of the 300. Whatever your bounty is. If you go to jail, you pay like 75% of the bounty. Could be more.. could be less.

Same....I will end up going on my own little hunting trips for several days in the game, sometimes to the point that the gang will come looking for me...which I didn't even know was a thing. If you stay away from the camp for too long, I think if you go at least 3 days in game from visiting your gang's hideout, eventually they will send someone out to find you and make sure you are okay. I was out on a big hunting trip to stock up on some perfect pelts for camp upgrades and suddenly, Bill came riding up and said that people were starting to worry about me and wanted to know if I was okay. Once they see you are safe, they will say they are heading back to camp and will ask if you want to head back with them or not. You will then get the option to either ride back with them to camp, or tell them you will head back later and they will head back on their own.

One thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention is that, if you are hunting, and have a carcass on your horse, you shouldn’t sleep at your mobile camp. Since the in-world time keeps going when you sleep, you might wake up to a rotting carcass that you can’t sell.
