Hi lwan, lm so glad you made it to your destination 😁 l found a lovely shell on a beach on holiday once, l took it back to the room and washed it in the sink as l was going to keep it, thank goodness l had only put cold water on it as a funny creature came out, it was white with tiny black dot eyes, we drove back to the beach and put it back where it was found, l don't pick them up anymore.🏖️😊❤

We stayed there at the playa sensation and had the premium side with rooftop , we didn't do all inclusive . Paid extra whilst there on the odd days for all inclusive drink n food . Great hotel , would def recommend , great area ,spent a few hours at the dunes stunning beaches clean good food esp in the Italian restaurant .Enjoyed watching your experience .

Yep, that Riu Oliva Beach Resort was the hotel we stayed in Christmas 2019. It was a bit dated but overall really nice, especially the location. Did have lots of sand flies though I remember! And there was a man who built amazing sand sculptures too on the entrance to the beach. 💚🧡

So glad you got to get away, as planned, albeit late :/ I can commiserate...one year we planned a trip to Jamaica to surprise friends that were also going there and it took us 48 hours, 4 planes and an 2 additional countries to get there, from Canada.

Glad you managed to get your few days away break Iwan. I have been to Lanzarote on many occasions and always hire a Villa where you have your own privacy with your pool and sunbathing and also the option to eat out whenever you want. We went on a day trip to Feurterventura and I personally prefer Lanzarote. I’ve also been to all the other Canary Islands. You can’t beat the weather, the short flight at all times of the year. 💖

Ooooh I approve of the hotel room recycling bin. I find it can be hard to do recycling when staying in hotels on holiday - I tend to go roaming the streets looking for recycling bins :)

Wow there is a serious amount of bells in that tower, I bet they sound fantastic when they are rung for various celebrations. Great selection of food at breakfast and Lunchtime considering the hotel didn’t seem that busy. Such a good look around , it’s been very interesting thank you .💖

Good morning Mr.C! Something similar happened to me once travelling to the island of Madeira. The landing strip is very short and a bit of it is over the sea, so if weather conditions aren't appropriate, airplanes can't land. We landed on the nearby island, Porto Santo, waiting for the wind to calm down. It didn't, so we headed back to the origen airport in Barcelona! We got hosted in a fantastic 5 star hotel Hotel Renaissance and stayed there one day, two nights until we could fly again, all meals included. I really didn't mind because I had a great experience in such a great hotel, otherwise I would have never visited. Also I travelled solo and met some amazing friends with whom I still keep in touch. As it was an over a week trip I still managed to visit the whole island in company of my new friends. I really do recommend visiting Madeira, just bear in mind possible setbacks 😅 What a pity about the cat cafe. Looked a great scape destination for a winter break and get some sunshine. Wonderful video. It looks amazing. I've been to Lanzarote..I got engaged over there 19 years ago (only lasted 3 months). I love that stuff, but unfortunately in the UK they don't sell it in glass bottles, the same as abroad, so doesn't quite taste the same. Love Corralejo. I've stayed at the Playa Park a few years ago with my daughter, it was ok...however, I've also stayed at the Riu Oliva Beach a few times and have just booked for next year. We love it. Dated but very clean, great food, friendly staff and no hidden extras. We stay in the main building and always request a pool view. It's fab. I think the annex is mainly families. Taxi rank just outside the hotel so you can have a day or night in Corralejo. X

Hi Mr Carrington, glad you got on your holiday eventually. The hotel you stayed in looked very nice especially the food. Glad you managed to do some exploring with having a shorter holiday than expected. Correljo looked as if it had a mix of hotels, shopping and beach. The name of the island suggests it’s windy, so that has put me off in the past. There are many videos of other resorts available. There is some mention of the two Riu hotels you saw in the dunes, especially the Oliva Beach with planning problems after being built in a national park. Thanks for sharing your holiday with us, and your good well balanced review.

The Macmaster stayed in the other RIU hotel, not keen on the distance from the town centre. Seemed a quiet place compared to Lanzarote and Tenerife.
