Hi Daz and Mike, great filming and banter as always. I’m with Mike on the scone thing BTW. 12.46 in; that wall to your left was the wall I hit last June, it’s route 700 near Meathop. Which resulted in 6 broken ribs and 5 days in Preston’s trauma unit. Lesson learnt. Recently repeated the route to Grange to extinguish the bad memory. As a kid most of my childhood holidays were spent at a caravan park between Silverdale and Arnside. I didn’t tell my classmates that I only went 15 miles away, fear of being ridiculed, taunted - crazy because they were fantastic and now have wonderful memories of those times with my late parents.

Sounds like a lot of pain you went through Sophie but fair play for facing your demons. I never realised how lovely Silverdale was . I must have had my eyes shut years ago when I visited .

@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Aye it’s lovely, around there. Every yellow road on the OS map has charm. Working our way towards a century ATM. Got an 80 miler to Hawes planned for Friday. Hope the winds are less than today. At some point we might run into each other 😁

It's lovely around Hawes. If you see us out n' about, just shout. I have had 5 weeks off the bike now with a groin injury, god knows what brought it on. Physio tomorrow $$ and hopefully I will start to get back out soon.

Hope you feel better Daz, There is nothing wrong with going only a few mikes down the road for your holidays, when I go back to my childhood places like Flookburgh, you now see so much more, thanks for your comment Sophie, take care out on the roads, Alan.

Nice reminder of my ride back in early March, I don't think you can fine better scenery, the dual carriageway from Newby Bridge can be very dangerous and I would advise anyone cycling to stay well clear and take the country lanes even if you have to take a longer ride.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures2 жыл бұрын
Yes , good point Alan, we nipped on it on the way back down the big descent section for about a mile. We cruised at 45mph with no effort then took the back lanes afterwards. We hardly saw a car all day on the quieter back lanes
@sophiescyclingandwalkingch42942 жыл бұрын
Agree, it’s dangerous the A590. I’ve used Back Lane that goes to Cartmel and then on to Allithwaite I remember it as a lovely relatively quiet route.
