This video goes through some tips I use to manage my time more productively.

It is so valuable "bias towards action" I have never come across before I have known my priorities but always lost in sideways.. that knowledge can save at least my 2-3 years but probably learning that will save so much for later.Thank you so much for choosing to share.

Great stuff, Daniel! Interesting to see that I actually have a very similar workflow in place. I personally moved from Trello to Asana (also free) which I feel provides some neat extra features (like a "card" from a Checklist) and linking tasks between multiple projects (boards). I have copied your AI Master's and adjusted to my goals: very useful! Once again, thanks for creating such good content and sharing it with others!

Liked your tips about: 1. not being afraid to try many things, 2. having a good relationship with yourself, 3. aiming for progress not perfection. These videos where you "just riff" are indeed longer but they also feel more personal. I enjoy them. 🙂

Great video Daniel ! I admire your discipline! One question though, how do you balance projects and courses? I find that if I passively sit through a course I don't gain much of it whereas if I make a project I'm forced to stretch my abilities and actually apply my knowledge. Do you find that courses are more effective than projects or vice versa?
@mrdbourke
@mrdbourke 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Blitzer! I use courses for foundation knowledge then projects of my own for specific knowledge. Specific knowledge is that which can’t be taught. It only happens through trial and error (trying out the things you’ve learned).

There's a saying among people who spend a lot of time outdoors: "there's no bad weather, there's just bad clothing." 😁In other words, as long as you dress appropriately, you can be outdoors anytime (except for the occasional hurricane, tornado, or other extreme weather event.) I ride my bike year-round despite the fact that I live in an area with long winters and heavy snow. It's not always pleasant, but it's doable. If the snow is so bad that I really can't ride, I run. Running is always possible. 😁

Hi Daniel, I've been trying out Trello to manage my tasks and interests in life and so far I'm liking it! I do have a problem that I'd like to ask: the opaque/transparency effect on some of your cards, are they due to a power-up? Is it card-aging? I noticed that you also have the calendar power-up enabled. Does your free account allow more than one power-ups? I only registered recently, and it seems the system only allows me to have one power-up per board, which kinda sucks. I think the transparency effect on cards is very helpful for hiding finished tasks.
@mrdbourke

Hey there! I think I have an old legacy version which allowed me to use multiple different power-ups. I think the maximum now is 1 before it becomes paid.

Bit irrelevant to this video Daniel. Currently trying to build my machine learning knowledge and skills. I have done a python course on udemy which was basic data science. My next steps are 3 Coursera courses: 1. Machine learning - Andrew Ng (to solidify the math behind the techniques) 2. deeplearning.ai 3. Application Data Science Specialization What are your opinions on this course selection and order? 😊 (Side note: I have learned the maths behind before in a machine learning module in uni, but as usual with college there was lots of other material to focus on and I never really took the time to understand)
@mrdbourke
@mrdbourke 4 жыл бұрын
I’d maybe swap 2 & 3, but you don’t have to do all of 3, only the first couple in the series, then go onto deeplearning.ai
@russ_fx
@russ_fx 4 жыл бұрын
@@mrdbourke yeah I wasn't sure what the order should be for that. I just found out there's a machine learning for finance Specialization, which I might add on to the end of that list, as it's the area I really want to apply ML and AI too. Planning to put any projects in these courses on my GitHub, and make blog posts on my GitHub pages of short reports on each project and how they work. So I have material to describe and talk about for interviews when I move to Canada in a few months 🇨🇦🇨🇦

You’re right, it does get robotic from day to day if all you’re doing is following a list. The trick is to add in randomness every now and then. Drop off the routine, try something different, see what sticks. Routines = efficiency but not necessarily effectiveness.
