For those who don't know this it is a musical take on a painting on display in Edinburgh. It looks like a bunch of weird color unless you place a parabolic mirror in exactly the right place. In the mirror you see a perfect portrait of Charlie. Phil wrote a sing that moved from a gavaut the royal dance of the day...became the Scottish loyalist song...to again go to court dancing mudic...never changed count..brilliant

do you have the name of the painting by any chance?

@@norbukeung The "Secret Painting" (or "Secret Portrait Object") is the most valuable piece in the West Highland Museum in the town of Fort William, Scotland. It can be seen on the museum website or even better in full screen on the National Archive website (the official national archive of the British government) with the web path [ Home > Education > Classroom resources > Jacobite Rising of 1745 > Secret portrait object ]. Another interesting thing about the Secret Painting is that it is essentially a counterfeit version of another painting, the portrait "Prince Charles Edward Stuart, 1720 - 1788. Eldest Son of Prince James Francis Edward Stuart" by Allan Ramsay (1713 - 1784). This other painting is instead located at the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh

@@moiramacgillivray4544 I love your use of Gaelic language Moira, as I did with Andy (I also love Silly Wizard's, "Donald MacGillavry," a near match to your last name). I too have Scottish roots and my mother's maiden name is Stuart. I meant no ill will to you, but appreciation for your spirit. I was only trying to say that since the Battle of Culloden was long lost, yet you retained their fighting drive, perhaps another righteous cause, such as saving our planet, could still be fought today. In any case, I side with the Scots and sympathize with the horrors they've endured. I also greatly resent England's past colonizing ways, as well as other nations who have done or are still doing the same today...By the way, my daughter is also a "wee lass," but she has the courage of a giant!

On top of that it kind of defeats the point of having the Jacobite Cause if the fuckin Heir to the Jacobite Throne is a German
@Ggdivhjkjl6 жыл бұрын
The young Prince Joseph Wenzel of Liechtenstein is directly in line to the Jacobite throne and he has trained with the British military. It does not defeat the point of the cause to support the rightful, lawful king. Royals have always intermarried so it's only to be expected that the heir of an exiled dynasty should have foreign blood.

@@abtinbozorg Thanks to Notifications it took me this long to reply to you, but, the Entire reason why the Jacobite cause was raised was to make the Hanoverians to get off the Throne of the Union. After fighting the wars all of the Scottish Stuarts faded out except for the current *German* Heirs to it, the Cause was to get Germans off the Throne so why bother with the cause anymore?
