I started watching the first minute on my phone, then I went to watch it on the PC, and I said to myself, no, boy, we have to watch this at night on the big TV in the living room, lights off and popcorn. I am fascinated with the art that Ian handles, the dedication and love in each shot.

That is the right spirit. Good content needs to be consumed the proper way. If your TV is an OLED, there would be nothing more to improve. I like to do the same with horror games, playing them at night with all lights out on the big screen with head phones. Alien Isolation is a blast that way. And I agree fully, Ian's art style and world construction is incredible. Everything seems lived in, very worn and old, basically very believable. I love this style.

@@mattg-q3z This is a disingenuous argument. It’s a passion project, not a hollywood production. You think it only takes VFX artists to make a film? And do you think they should do that work for free? VFX artists are ALREADY underpaid and you’re saying they should be paid even less?

Okay, the VFX are amazing, especially for someone doing it by himself, but things like writing are NOTICEABLY lacking and I don’t think Ian would deny that. There really isn’t anything lacking in the writings department. It’s just that Ian and co. has always favored unconventional storytelling, especially the kind that isn’t necessarily fully sequential and in order, clear and concise right away, so you gotta follow along and work things out yourself too. I think the writing is brilliant.

Like I work as a visual effects artist, I can pick out some things in this that are clearly lower quality than you’d expect from Hollywood, but not so bad that I felt the need to mention it in responding to this comment. The first episode was a blast when I first watched it. I was amazed to see that there were more episodes, but now the continue to the first?? Oh myy I loved the detail, the neon lights, the way you've imagined this kind of world with all sorts of new architecture, objects, lifts, etc. the staging, music and atmosphere, for sure, left me wondering. thank you, I loved it and will watch it over and over again.

Incredible as always. I have enjoyed supporting this through Patreon, and it is really cool to see the assets and shots you've been giving us peeks at in all their glory. No doubt you are changing the way movies can be made. Which is great because the big studio system is teetering and ready to collapse under it's own insane bloat.

Man, your lazy tutorials are what got me started on my visual effects journey four years ago, and I remember being so hyped when the episode 1 came out. Great work as always, and thanks for continuing to provide sparks of inspiration.

As with the first episode, I have no idea what is going on, but I love this gorgeous, old and worn and slightely mysterious Sci-Fi world. I may not grasp the story yet, but I would easily watch this as a move in the cinemas. And in some way, it's nice to not understand what is going on. It is so entiring in the movie industry, how you are usually treated like a kid, every little details needs to be pointed at your face with a close-up. In real life, you also don't always know what is going on. It's good enough to be on for the ride, and eventually it will come together.

OK, now I can't wait for the Boat Episode! While I was hooked on the previous episodes, the polish on this one is phenomenal! I'm clearly a kindergartner when it comes to my skill level in Blender and what it is capable of!

That was incredible, entirely worth the wait. I *adore* your work. Also, something that I really really loved about your writing, you didn't linger on him thinking Jo abandoned him at the airport, or have this drive some kind of wedge into their relationship. You filled him in almost immediately and I just adore that. You've basically subverted the 'ride never shows up' trope.

Literally, NEVER expect to see these pop up in my feed but every time it turns into the BEST DAY EVER! Amazing and inspirational work. This and a watch through of all the episodes available will keep me grinding on my animation journey for another year.
