It always amazes me how as soon as I post a video there is always almost instantaneously a dislike. Maybe I should feel flattered that some troll feels so strongly about hating my videos that he/she is dedicated to the mission of disliking the video ASAP? It can't be easy to be that committed to such a miserable cause.

What ya gonna do? I never really saw the need for Likes/Dislikes since the whole point of YT is to "View" a vid. Anyhoo...another tip for those of you trying this ration is chop up the patty in the bag, tear a wheat snack bread up to tiny pieces and dump them in the bag. Those pieces absorb all the yummy goodness and take the edge off the spicyness. There othere snack bread get the cheese for a different texture. Good stuff as always G! Cheers

I don't really understand my attraction to these worse-than-airplane-food entrees but I really want to eat these every day...
@aserta10 жыл бұрын
Actually these are miles ahead of airplane food, especially considering the appalling standards of airplane food. Sometimes they taste like a brick but you get your calories and what you need so they do what they are mean without being astronaut food (they get the short stick).

Great job as always. I have a Menu 19 in my own inventory, and I'm eager to enjoy it. To those who haven't had one, MREs have come a LONG way in the past few years. Early ones could be pretty dismal, but the Army does listen and does care about the food our troops get. Also keep in mind that MREs are not the only chow troops get Most meals are served in a mess hall or from a field kitchen. MREs are for use only when soldiers can't get their regular fare. I use mine for fishing trips and such - which is a direct parallel to how soldiers use them. For that use, they're pretty darn good!

Just ate an updated version of this menu item. They have since changed it to include tortillas instead of wheat snack bread and instant coffee II instead of the cocoa. They adjusted the recipe for the cookie in the cobbler and it’s mostly TFF. My FRH got hot enough to heat all components in two batches. I picked this one to “thin the herd” and almost regret it. It was a good one.

Spaetzle, pronounced schpets lee, is a very small German dumpling which is passed through a sieve into boiling water and is made of flour eggs and the like. Birdseye still sells the green beans with bacon and spaetzle should you really wish to see and or taste these little dumplings. I'm making them by hand at home and they are absolutely yummy with some butter and salt and pepper. You can find a mix in the store to make them at home if anyone is interested and is never made these dumplings before. 😀

I've been to Canada ever since i was probably in the womb, and in cananda, the main language is french, not english, even though kids are taught English in schools, and especially not Spanish. So yes they especially do that on canada

Being a subscriber and fan of many mre reviewers, and watching many reviews and seeing many struggles with packaging, I have to ask: do you all have some aversion to opening things with scissors? ??? They work amazingly well.
@Folsomdsf210 жыл бұрын
Most MRE's are meant to be self contained with no items needed other than water from a persons canteen or bottle. It's part of their function to test how it works without use of scissors/knives even with the packaging.

I've never understood the fascination with cheese... :D ...Yes, it has calcium and vitamin D, also some Vitamin A, yes, it is calorie dense... I can see why it factors in pretty heavily in MRE's... A lot of MRE's seem to revolve around beef, chicken, wheat, peanut butter and cheese... Beans, pork, chocolate and potatoes come up here and there of course, along with the wet pack fruit and electrolyte beverage powders being very common as well... I know I'm kind of talking to the wrong guy here, but, has the military thought about including foods/featuring food more prominently, like avocado, turkey, bison, egg, spinach, broccoli, hummus, lentils, wild rice, brown rice, pine nuts, sunflower seeds, cashews, cashew butter, walnuts, yogurt, berries, quinoa, and sweet potato? Also, even more potato than at present, chorizo, adzuki beans, banana, olives, collards, oats, corn, green beans, peas, even something like corned beef-its getting into that bacon/unhealthier range, yeah, but man, corned beef seems to fit right into this stuff, very calorie dense, tasty, satisfying, protein, etc...? Some of this stuff is pricy, yeah... Turkey, more beans, green beans, more spinach and broccoli, lentils, potatoes, hummus, corn, and avocado/guacamole should all be givens... I still think corned beef would be a hit too... :)
