I will leave one detailed comment for the Americans. First, the cost of this ration is $15. I don't know what you can buy in the US for 15 dollars, but you will not get even 2000 kcal for 100%. Secondly, this daily ration was developed back in 2014. It has been used in the troops since 2015. Aid from the United States began to arrive in 2022. Third, almost all financial assistance from the United States is used to pay salaries and pensions. Believe me, your money is not in this ration. Finally, I will say that your president in the early 90s forced us to give up the world's third largest nuclear weapons arsenal in exchange for security. The United States obliged us to hand over these nuclear weapons to Russia. I'm sorry, but if we had nuclear weapons, your taxes would not go to our country.

like last time, notes as a Ukrainian soldier: for us dinner (aka the heaviest meal of the day) is eaten in the middle of the day, while the bag you called lunch is supper there are no other drink options besides coffee and tea (edit: wow you got the order right after all) there are instructions on how to heat up the mains, you are supposed to boil them for something like 3 minutes (note: in practice the meals are usually eaten cold or poured into a metal bowl and heated over a small gas stove or heated by holding them against a potbelly stove) I suspect our habit of eating them cold greatly contributes to the poor rep these rations have it's quite strange that you find the rations flavorful, I've always found them extremely plain, while the Polish ration is if anything overly spicy at least nobody can say they aren't filling, they are designed for someone doing heavy labor all day, it's almost double the caloric need of someone just sitting around I hope you understand now why the Polish ration's coffee is considered strong, lol the tea brand in these rations is a premium one, one of the best you can buy theoretically there's a reinforced version of this ration (Steve reviewed it) with FRH and chocolate and dried fruit, but I've never seen it you missed out on the best menu item, potatoes with meat closing thoughts: we generally dislike these rations (it's not as much a problem as it would be in the US since we are issued regular food whenever it's possible for us to cook it ourselves, like eggs, potatoes, tushonka, pasta, various kashas and rice), but I suspect this is mainly due to our habit of eating them cold, a severe lack of meal variety and a severe lack of comfort items I'll be glad to answer any questions you guys have

In a matter of days you're going to be a walking custard factory. One can only imagine the smell in a trench with other troops. I'll bet they trade, steal, horde, hide, beg for TP after 3 days of these meals. That is true. I am a big supporter of all military personnel. They do what we civilians cannot even comprehend! I have always said that my opinions are those of a civilian eating food, and wanting soldiers to eat better! They and you if you are former military, deserve to at a minimum eat well. Some of the garbage put in military rations makes me furious that they would feed a soldier that trash. This is just a hobby for me. I did try to join the Army out of high school. When they told me I could not be, nor ever would be a tank operator, I told them to go pound sand. In retrospect I should have taken the machine gunner role they wanted me to fill. I am 6'3" and a pretty big guy. Thus they said "you will never fit in a tank, but you would look great carrying an M60".
