I LOVE WHEN YOU DO MRE's outside. Because it makes it seem like if you were actually out on the field or something

Just got a military MRE because of your videos. It was honestly really good. Keep making these videos, they're interesting.

gschultz hasn't changed a bit! Watched him years ago but stop for some reason. I made a KZbin account recently and stubbled back upon these MRE vids. Nothing really changed to me while I was gone but I remember the last video of him I watched was one where he took different ingredients from Mre's and gave it to his daughters. Keep up the great work G!

One of my favorite MRE variations, the cornbread goes really well with the chili ;)

Nice touch doing the review outdoors. I have never seen cornbread, was it sweet made my old southern heart happy. Dump that crushed pepper on brother.

Those FRH's - I don't see you guys ever doing it, but why do you keep putting the meal pouch into the FRH bag? The galvanic cells don't get wetted properly with items in the bag, which gives you uneven heating. Perhaps just add your 40-60mL of water to the FRH and keep the meal and other things you want to heat on the outside of the FRH bag, then stuff it into the box. Maybe don't lay it at an angle - keep it flat to ensure the water (electrolyte) maintains contact with all the cells. Try it! I think you'll be impressed. It works for me
@rockyraab82908 жыл бұрын
That's what I've been preaching for some time now. FRH works better, food stays dry and gunk-free, and you can easily flip the entree over halfway through the cycle to even out the heating. Smarter all 'round.

gschultz9 also the contents in mine were a little different like a banana ranger bar instead of a pop tart, bread instead of crackers, and electrolyte powder instead of chocolate shake powder, also I ate most of it for dinner last night but my brother poured all of the red pepper powder in my chili so it was a little too hot, but the MRE was still great, especially the price.
@pilsplease75616 жыл бұрын
I can handle hot stuff, but I dumped a pack of hot pepper flakes out of a mre into a item once and it was for first time in my life too hot for me to eat. Ive got hot sauce made out of the worlds hottest pepper and this stuff was somehow hotter?

Have you ever tried mixing the coffee with the chocolate dairy shake? I'm not sure how the dairy shake would taste warm, but it almost seems like it could be a mocha cappuccino type drink? Just a thought. :) Love your videos!!
@gschultz98 жыл бұрын
You know, that's a pretty common thing to do and I probably SHOULD showcase it myself. The only problem is that I actually don't like coffee (believe it or not), and putting it into a drink that I like (like the cocoa beverage or a chocolate dairyshake) would kind of ruin the drink for me!

I have yet to find A MRE, with what they call cornbread, wondering how it tastes? More flour than corn meal by appearance. Glad you " GUNDOGED It up, LOL. Love the army ant. Peace, John, Magnum. P.S., have to share, when you said, " After A meal like this..", LOL, I thought you were going to say. I need the rest of the John Wayne paper, LOL. . ! Glad it went to reusing package, Peace. John.

How long can store a MRE?
@thecman268 жыл бұрын
Indefinitely if you freeze it!
@gschultz98 жыл бұрын
They're designed to last 3-5 years when stored properly, but will actually last much longer. There's no specific amount of time before they actually go bad. You can find one from five years ago that isn't very good and then find one that's twenty years old and still perfectly fine. Just to give a very rough estimate, I think I'd feel comfortable eating MREs that are up to 10 years old if I knew they were stored well. They can certainly remain edible longer than that, but why take the chance?
