For those people, who wonder how the FRH (Flameless Ration Heater) works: Ration heaters generate heat in an electron-transfer process called an oxidation-reduction reaction. Water oxidizes magnesium metal, according to the following chemical reaction: Mg + 2H2O → Mg(OH)2 + H2 [+ heat].

Thanks for reminding me, I need to order a new case. I work in a factory building high-voltage power supply units. Basically those big metal boxes you see outside of buildings that supply electric power to the entire building. Lots of huge copper & silver cables and tons of tap-wires, breakers and neutral devices. Personally, my position is a wire-runner so I plug nearly hundred of wires into their terminals. It pays alright. Plus overtime is completely voluntary.

Given how ubiquitous Corn Nuts are here in the Midwest it amazes me that people, that don't live here, are mesmerized by "toasted corn kernels." No matter what MRE video I watch, if the person didn't grow up with Corn Nuts they treat it as something exotic. There are some pretty good ones out there believe it or not. A lot of them are complete ass, but for sure my favorite is the cheese tortellini. You get the best shit to trade out of it also, first strike bars and other good stuff.
@WO1Josh6 жыл бұрын
Trading was the best part of MRE's. Personally i dislike the meat sticks that pop up on occasion. I always swapped them for something else. I miss the old school tobasco. The new stuff isnt as good.
@mrdavis78436 жыл бұрын
MREs with tortillas are the best. In the field, we used to put hot sauce or barbecue sauce on them, and then put the cheese spread on.

Cato2K18 how do you take in to account for those with food allergies and sensitivities or picky eaters?
@YapbreakOne6 жыл бұрын
@@greeneyes12346 You would obviously record food allergies when you sign up for them, and if you are actually strugglin you would not be a picky eater.
@SleepingPepper6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you don't get to be a picky eater if you're eating on tax dollars. People can buy goddamn lobster with food stamps. Its ridiculous.
@pinkyless6 жыл бұрын
Cato2K18 An MRE on average takes $20 to make vs food stamps per person is just dollars, this would be far more expensive.

They even have a Kazakhstan one as well interesting. I wanna eat mine while I watch you eat the same one haha! Maybe while I’m camping or at the park that would be fun. 😊

The thing is that probably say 60% of the military rolls over over the course of 4 years. Changing the menu is a waste, I got out almost 6 years ago and never heard of this MRE, does it really matter?

I think most ROK military service members serve less time in the military than Americans due to mandatory conscription. It’s kind of pointless to make new MREs when the people keep changing.

I recently had a Menu 9, Cold weather. Rice and chicken, Mexican. The sad fact is i can get one on ebay, and its still cheaper than dominoes. But my point being. Mneu 9 was delicious. Some of the rice stayed crunchy may well have been my fault. But it was incredibly filling and healthy coming with smoked almonds and dried cranberries. and a chocolate banana dessert bar. I highly reccomend it for anyone who likes MRE tasting.
