Recently, my father started watching anime, and Fairy Tail was one that he picked up, so I've had it on my mind, and have had sort of a Fairy Tail relapse. To all those who are complaining about this theme... WTF ARE YOU ON?!?!? Of course the old one was the original and it had the heart and soul of Fairy Tail and I absolutely loved that theme and still do, even more than this one. But it's been a long time since it was the first season of Fairy Tail. When Fairy Tail 2014 came they needed this to return with a comeback! Actually the original Naruto soundtrack was written by Toshio Masuda. They switched over to Yasuharu Takanashi(guy who wrote Fairy Tail soundtrack) for Shippuden. Both did a fantastic job :D

So I am listening to the old and new themes together right this very second. I can confirm the rumors are (mostly) true. There are some sloppy bits here that some post processing could easily clean up and there but overall the two songs do line up almost flawlessly in timing and scope. Now for something really interesting. The "sound" of the mixture changes entirely based on which theme has volume priority. Meaning: When you listen to both and the original theme is louder (I set it to 50% and the YT video to 25%), it sounds ENTIRELY different than when you listen to the new theme at 50% and the OG theme at 25%. When combined, those two songs create two entirely new, majorly epic songs. The only issue is that the new theme is 10 seconds longer but for about 2 minutes and 20 seconds, they sync up perfectly and it's freaking amazing.

It's definitely doable with some editing. I've considered doing very rough copies just for academic purposes (showing that it can be done). I'm no sound engineer but I work with DAWs in my job so I'm not a total noob. There are some parts that are sloppy as hell that tank the theory a lot but particularly the heaven's choir parts in the original with the strings segment of this one match up so well it's difficult to ignore.

ahhh the memories of easier times... under the covers in the dead of night- phone in hand watching this anime far later in the night than i should have been awake (all the while panicking about the homework and tests i still needed to study and complete) replaying over and over again the E P I C battles this guild has fought in (mainly natsu a̶n̶d̶ ̶g̶a̶j̶e̶e̶l̶ v. sting and rogue)

When I first heard this... "This is fairy tail's comeback!" ♥ I love the old theme, the true sound of fairy tail but this one is sound for comeback guys! Dont hate any of these versions just listen to this sound of glory ~ ^w^ Music wont change fairy tail, as well new production won't. Fairy Tail's story is the same amazing story that sounded in our hearts when we first saw Fairy Tail ♥ Anyways, this music is as epic as the first theme!
