We've covered this song in our band for decades. I always hold that major seventh chord shape for the G as well that being a G sixth. It works. Try it. Love your videos 😊

Yeah for sure. I’m gonna try it thanks!!

I like leaving the highE open while playing the G,so it’s basically the Fmj7 up 2 frets

Do you play different voicings throughout the song to add interest? The driving beat of this song is key, and my chord changes aren't keeping up :-)
@FrankPersico3 ай бұрын
Not really. I will use dynamics and alter the strum to add some more texture and build. Also you could try loooing it and perhaps adding diff voicing on top if you need more

Sometimes great songs are so simple to play that they're boring to learn.

Well then we can focus on the delivery. HOW we play them. Keep it exciting

I was just messing with you bro Great video for beginners and pros alike. I can honestly say that I did not know Dreams was only played with two chords for the most part. I Just put fresh strings on my Fender acoustic and it sounds great.

well in the recording they use Fmaj7 and some sort of inversion iirc for the G chord, so this is more for beginners imo

It’s very tricky because I lost the tip of my thumb years ago, but thanks anyway

Sorry to hear that.

Why not keep the E going on the G-chord as well?
@FrankPersico3 ай бұрын
You definitely could. That open E would gel with the melody of the song. I would maybe only do it on the chorus since the verse is more sparse to begin with
