September in the Adirondacks is just spectacular. Hardly any bugs plus night time temperatures are extremely comfortable for sleeping.
Back in September 2022 myself and friend Gary spent several days camping at the Rollins Pond campground in New York's Adirondack Park. We had amazing weather while there and on this particular day we found ourselves pond hopping from our campsite on Rollins Pond to Floodwood Pond, Middle Pond, Follensby Clear Pond, Fish Creek, Whey Pond, Rollins Pond and back to our campsite.
This was a long day but a fun day, hope you'll join us!
Canoes in this video:
Both are Hornbeck "New Tricks" 14' models.

Man, I don't know who takes more abuse. Gary, or your credit card with all your canoe purchases! This place never gets old. The scenery is gorgeous. This has me wanting to go through my gear and start placing something! I miss it more than the Jets miss the playoffs!

Looks like you guys had a great trip with beautiful weather. I have to try a single blade with my Hornbeck, I've seen a few others using one as well. I like my double blade, but now I'm curious. Thanks for sharing, can't wait for paddling season!

I think you'll be surprised at how well the boat does with one. I always have my double blade with me no matter what. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, I appreciate it. We're getting closer to paddling time!

Oh man, I am looking forward to paddling season this year. That mattress looks comfortable! Great for car camping! Sleeping in style. This looks like a fun day of paddling in some nice canoes! Do you still have that canoe? About how many miles was the entire loop?
@mrgjoe
@mrgjoe Жыл бұрын
Yup I still very much have that Hornbeck. Hmm as for mileage I'd say around 10 with carries, I never gps'd though.

Hey Joe........ it looks like you and Gary had perfect water conditions. I love paddling on days like that. I'm guessing this was the trip where you guys visited Barb and I at FC? How about that put in to FC from the Follensby Clear carry? I really don't like that put in. That is one deep mucky floating bog.

Yes this is from when we visited you guys. We did have some amazing weather and yeah that put in is mucky/boggy but I just love the area. We will be at Rollins this year again 9/5-9/9...
