As a huge fan of the Classic Era having been playing the Sonic series since it's start my opinion is that while Sonic Mania is great it's a close second to Sonic 3&K. Sure it's graphically smoother and the feel of the gameplay is replicated but Mania's story doesn't compare to 3&K's and while unlike some vocal internet voices I don't mind the "Anniversary" style construction of Mania with mostly ported Zones and fortunately Act 2 remixes that make them more new I have to give 3&K a few extra points for being wholly original.

Mania overrated reused levels themes most music is remix and the level design love to have crushing block in a lot of the zones ( if it is the jumping things in oil ocean or just crushing block for metallic madness)and why more than half of the enemies are annoying as fuck( like the squid from oil ocean) and the special stages controls are so fucking bad especially when I did in uncore special stage 7 fuck it’s bad( plus they ruined sonic 3/k special stage they make it so insanely hard just to extend playtime, we aren’t in the eighties!!!!)
