Congratulations on the new series about classic/yougtimers. In my opinion it gave another life to your content. And it still amazes me that how come you actually make my knowledge about cars better whenever I watch you and your channel has not exploded yet compared to other KZbinRS which do not seem to add up really much. You seem like a refined/better produced Doug. Amazing work. All the best from Brazil!

James, as a young teenager there were 3 cars that boys my age had on posters on their bedroom walls: Ferrari GTO 288, Porsche 959 and the Ferrari F40 (which you covered in Ep.3) These cars were unique in that they were the very first Hypercars.. everything before them were only Supercars. I mean, the F40 was the 1st $1 Million dollar vehicle to drool over! So very special, that they set the benchmarks for all others that would follow. In sum, they are old enough to look back on, but modern enough to still be 'lust worthy'... Modern Classics indeed. So, my wish, is for you to drive the remaining 2 of the 3. Cheers, James.

One of very few BMWs i actually like. I have a neighbour with a E30 M3 and it is such a cool car. He has changed the exhaust, air intake and put on BBS Super RS wheels on it. Other than that its completely original. And he even uses it now in the Norwegian winter. Now you have to find a Mercedes 190E 2.3 or 2.5 16v to compare to it. And a Alfa Romeo GTV6 should be a cool car to drive for this series. The name though is Cecotto not Secotto. Just so you get that right. See that some others have mentioned that as well. But a good video. This is probably the best series you've ever done.

Enjoyed your video. Brought back some great memories for me having owned a Macao Cecotto between 98' - 02'. As mentioned, not the quickest of cars but the chassis and the go - kart characteristics of the car made up for any of it's shortfalls if any. Oh yes, one very good looking car that looks even better now in my opinion than back when I was lucky enough to have owned one.

Love, love, love this new series to your channel. I really like how your channel focuses on the "lifestyle" of (super)car ownership i.e. great hotels, fantastic driving roads, watches, etc. This new addition to your channel fits in perfectly with those other aspects simply because cars like the E30 M3 is where so many current supercar owners started (and some of us never left.) I've owned quite a few E30 M3's over the years and as you stated in the video, they aren't powerful by today's standards. They're not as fast in the 0-60 or the top end. But if you keep the revs up over 4k it's a fantastic "momentum" car in the curves and gets from 45mph to 90mph in a heartbeat. BTW, every year or two I take a trip from my home in America to go and watch my beloved Manchester United. In the days between games I do "car stuff." 15-20 yrs ago I had two separate opportunities to buy a JC edition E30 M3 in England. One of them was offered to me for about $16k (US) which was a bit pricey because I'd just paid about $12k for a very low mileage '90 E30 M3. I kick myself often for not buying that car for it most likely would've been the most astute financial investment I've ever made. Not to many JC editions in America, but when you do find one they are well into the six figures. Anyway great job as usual James. Look forward to more videos on classics along with the fantastic videos we all look forward to throughout the week. Cheers lad!

Found this channel beacuse of this series...and it just keeps getting better and better...amazing. I found your "is back the way forward" (or something like that lol) idea very intreguing. Food for thought definitely. It would be great if you could test hot hatches (or any other "normal" and more generic cars) from the 80's-90's such as the Fiat Bravo HGT, Alfa 145 Cloverleaf, Peugeot 306 GTI, Clio Williams, Civic SiR. Saxo VTS. And compare it to a modern hot-hatch say...Golf GTI, Giulietta QV/Veloce, 308 GTI, Clio RS to see if despite having more power, better handling and tech, they still have soul. Great work Mr. JWW

Everybody is going on about Cecotto Secotto but those glasses look spot on. This might sound bit weird but you dress accordingly for every occasion and your style goes with everything you drive. Most people will not even realise that but it makes a huge difference to a video and I think we should appreciate his effort of bumping up the quality in every single way possible. Cheers to you James, you are the best and keep up the good work !

Probably my favorite motorcar of all-time closely behind the Lotus Elan. Today we are so enamored with power/speed/acceleration. Chassis will always be job one, in my view. give me 90, 140, 215 horses in a car that carves out the twisties and B-roads. Those cars are elite for my money. Please do a Peugeot 205 GTI, Escort Cosworth, 968 CS, or Clio Williams if you haven't already.

Hey Mr JWW, loving th modern classics section- something I always wanted to do myself.. On the E30 M3, the exhaust was actually a dtm tip, probably made by Scorpion- it was a popular, reliable mod on older M cars- I had one on my E34 M5 (please feature one of these- the best supersaloon ever).
@chrisdyson55135 жыл бұрын
Good choice of car. BMW we’re never really about the exhaust sound but more about the drive. The e30 and e36s were, some say, the last real drivers cars BMW made. I tried an M235i last year and whilst packed full of the tech goodies, it didn’t give me as much fun as my 1995 e36 coupé (not even an M version). Great series looking forward to the next episode.

Man - you are like the mail man .. You always deliver ! amazing content. I’m not one to regularly correct people, but given you said it so many times I thought I would enlighten you .. Johnny Cecotto’s name is pronounced “Checotto” not “Secotto”. Thanks for the great video - E30 is a classic which only comes alive in the upper echelons of the rev range (4000-6500) . Ferrari 360 manual at some stage? Would love your take given you have owned them all since.
