"Was" cannot ask for plurals. Welche Tipps nutzt du? Wie ist das Wetter? Correct sentence. Correct sentence. Welches Spiel beginnt in fünf Minuten? Who plays? /Was für ein Spiel beginnt in fünf Minuten? What type of game?

Note that in German, colours are both an open and closed group, so "welche Farbe" and "was für eine Farbe" have the same meaning and are used interchangeably. (Edit: Unless you're talking about a limited number of choices of colours. Then you need to use "welche". The same is true when using "Farbe" to mean "paint" instead of "colour", btw. There, however, the layman will tend to use "was für" as they're not aware of all the different kinds of paint that could have been used.) BTW: "Material" is pronounced "ma-te-ri-jaaaahhhhhl" or "ma-tri-jaaaahhhhhl". I'd suggest the latter for normal speech and the former if you want to sound overly formal.
