A beautiful song about losing loved ones too soon. The studio version with his wife singing harmony is breathtaking!

You would be surprised I made those songs up in hunting cabin down in South Texas in March of 2004. Some crackheads named Steve and Robbie secretly recorded me unwittingly sounding like him when Chris sang lead for the Steeldrivers. Somehow the tape got to Chris. And I gotta thank the thief who stole my music cuz I never went to Nashville to produce it myself. Except now I gotta listen to what I never took past a campfire every time I’m in a Wal Mart. That’s life!

You would be surprised how many hits he has written. Not only for himself but he has a lot that he wrote for others. He is about as real and authentic as you will find these days!

He has written the majority of the songs he sings. He has written numerous hits for other artists as well. Only recently did he start writing songs strictly for himself.
