Actually is was Autumn Strong that Dimash learned phonetically in a week. This Hello performance was in 2018, and since 2017; Dimash had been communicating with his China team in English. Dimash had a better grasp of basic English than what you implied.

The flute that is playing is a traditional Kazakh instrument called a Sybyzgy. I am afraid you will never get an explanation to your "How?" except for talent, a gift, genetics, and years of training. LOL At the end he says, Thank you, and then thank you for inviting him back to the stage, in Kazakh (I do know the thank you, not sure if I remember the rest in Kazakh exactly).
